Bears restructured QB Nick Foles' contract.
Foles' new deal is a three-year contract worth $24 million with $21 million fully guaranteed. He'll make $8 million in 2020 and can earn up to $6 million in annual incentives. The modified contract will reduce the cap hit for the Bears, but Foles will still be earning all the cash he was guaranteed from the Jaguars. The move helps open up additional cap space for the Bears to sign another TE (kidding). It seems rather unlikely the Bears pick up Mitchell Trubisky's fifth-year option, meaning that Chicago could suddenly have some available cap space on the horizon.

Trubisky will never see the regular season field this season unless Foles gets injured or plays horribly.

Let Scrubinsky start the season, then pull him about three-quarters of the way through and start BDN. Guaranteed ring.

We didn't give up a 4th rounder for in a draft that we didn't have a lot of capital in just to sit Nick on the bench. They're saying open competition which is smart since there's a small chance Trubisky figures it out. In the likely event that he doesn't though, BDN shouldn beat him out and grab the starting spot.

The Bears will soon show how not committed they are to Trubisky by declining his 5th year option.

How long before turning to Foles? I'll say day 2 of camp.

I still think that Nagy is so damn stubborn that he won't give up on Trubisky to the point where it's going to be too late for Foles to salvage anything. That very well could cost Nagy his job.

The Bears are a talented team trying to win despite their QB.

The man hugged and consoled him on National Television at the end of a game that was pretty much already over to put in Chase f*cking Daniel. Then he realized his backup was Chase f*cking Daniel and he let reality prevail and just took his medicine with the Trubisky fail for the rest of the doomed season.

There's no way that Nick Foles will be passed over by Nagy. Trubisky's "vote of confidence" after the hug and talk to prime time debacle was more of an indication of how bad the guys behind him were than any kind of actual trust in him.

It's BDN time.

A restructure makes it easier to trade him to the Eagles in Week 10.

I would start Trubisky, and run his ass into the ground. Free reign to take off and run whenever. Then when he inevitably gets hurt, bring in Nick.

I have my doubts about Foles playing a full season.

You’re right. We need more threads about coding.
