Rodgers by his own admission didn't have his best season last year but he still is arguably the most talented QB in the NFL although Mahomes is also a contender for that honor.

Rodgers will be 37 in December. Clearly his best years are behind him. Rodgers’ AV has been 13 and 14 the last two years. Mitch Trubisky’s was 13 in 2018 and look at him now.

Looking at this objectively, the Packers should trade Rodgers this offseason because there is probably some dumbass GM out there that still thinks he is an elite quarterback and who will give up a ton of assets. Love will probably be as good as 37 year old Rodgers by the end of this season.

Thoughts?
thoughts are the cap wont allow it.

My guess in three years if Love turns out to be something.
2 years if Rodgers looks like a dead corpse out there or they think Love is gonna be the next mahomes.
but short of that. No less than three years.

Thoughts? I think this is a troll thread. Did you know Carson Wentz has as many playoff wins as Andy Dalton?

I think part of this is how well Rodgers plays, but part is how the Packers do.

I'm sure Rodgers will play with a chip on his shoulder this season.

If the Packers traded Rodgers this Offseason they'd still be stuck with over $50M in dead money. Won't happen. Earliest is next year

I’d be OK with them taking a massive cap hit like that.

From what I’ve read on these boards, Andy Dalton is a very good quarterback.

I'm sure he will.

That makes it even more important for them (GB) to have a good season...a good year by Rodgers and mediocre team results will probably push GB more into thinking with a big jump in cap hit next year, how will they be able to put enough around him to go further into the playoffs and come away with a ring.

I tell you...Love at 26 just did not make any sense for a 13-3 team with a top 5 QB...and has limited weapons.

As the GM, you damn well better have a game plan or his days should be numbered.

I don't totally disagree with you there, but it also does not make much sense to carry a $36 mil cap hit at ANY position if you're not seeing results on the field.

On paper...Rodgers contract is very toxic if traded or released this year....the dead money hit drops enough next year to make the move hoping to spread the dead money over two seasons.

I do not believe Rodgers plays this contract out in GB...if they win it all this year, yeah I could see him back in '21, but you don't often see teams invest a 1st round pick on any player and not play that guy for 2 years.

The Packers may be different as Rodgers sat 3 years before he started a game

The Packers were 13-3 last season so Rodgers wasn't a problem. The Packers don't have any good WR's with the exception of Davante Adams. The Packers chose not to add a quality WR in the draft.

Yes I dont understand all this talk of Rodgers is going to suck or his ability has dropped to a lower level

I say 3 years and am amused at all the thoughts of a down Packer team with lack of weapons but always prefer to be the underdog.

Do you know this or are you just hoping this is true? Honestly, I think you're a moron, and maybe your best years are behind you when considering your trolling prowess....

If you look at any metric (passer rating, QBR, ANY/A, NY/A, AV, etc.), Rodgers was great from 2009-2014. He has not been near that level in 3+ years. He is still very good but you have people who think he is MVP-caliber and he hasn’t been.

That’s just the facts. Sorry it hurts your feelings.

Very true. Maybe it would be the same under the new rookie deal, but they only have 3 years before having to make a decision on the 5th yr option now. Hard to imagine him sitting even two years...and GB only getting one yr to see if he's worth the option.

I still think his tenure in GB will be dictated by how they do on the field.

Particularly in JAN.

Rodgers has played injured the past two years.
