There is still time too. Marlins and Yankees just had to scrap a game due to Covid. This is just the start
My bottom line is this. Anytime anyplace under our current world pandemic you create huge risks for the players the fans, the people that work the stadium, the people that work with the team, then all those people go to church, dinner, stores, gas stations and this is how it spreads. I feel the world health is far more important than a game.

Good points.

Problem is that people will still go to church, dinner, stores, gas stations and this is how it spreads. With or without games. I don't know where you live, but here in NH, I can go to Market Basket or Walmart and half of the people in the store aren't wearing a mask.

Been watching the NBA play their exhibition games. No fans. Players are seated 6 feet apart on the sideline and players on the sideline are off the playing floor. Don't know how the NFL will do this but it's worth a try.

As an aside................30,000 people are getting the vaccine today.

Well the NFL will choose to be part of the problem or part of the solution. You are taking the Guns don't kill people, people kill people approach, while true it's hard to deny that America does not have gun problem we do! This season is greed driven by the owners, and to a degree the players. I know a lot of people will cast logic aside and defend their point it happens in almost all things debated in these forums.

Again my bottom line cancel the season be part of the solution not part of the problem.

I wish I could, but I can't... I can't disagree with any of this.

MLB isn't looking good. Jason and Devin McCourty went on social media and chastized the Marlins for being out in bars and nightclubs. They said that professional athletes have to be leaders especially for younger people. Taking selfies head against head and kissing people that you don't know is a dangerous and irresponsible action that doesn't set a good example during this pandemic.

Tom Curran NBCSports Boston..................

All Patriots players will be tested three times this week and have three negative tests before being allowed to access the locker room at Gillette.

All coaches and staff will be tested twice this week and be negative for both tests before being allowed to interact with players.

It's not like Florida isn't already a cesspool of Covid.

Before I'd spend any effort in shutting down the NFL season with all the controls they have in place, I triple my effort on wrangling up Joe Public. How about people take some responsibility.
Get the idiots off the streets.
Stop the morons from abusing minimum wage workers for enforcing standards.
Slap the shit out of someone not wearing a mask.

Football players have plenty of $ and medical coverage in place to handle getting sick. Or infecting a loved one.

The person working at Walmart getting abused by these idiots aren't as fortunate.

The New England Patriots have re-signed quarterback Brian Lewerke, a source confirmed with Patriots Wire on Thursday. Receiver Will Hastings also re-signed with the team, the Patriots announced on Wednesday.

The team cut them earlier this week to trim the roster from 90 to 80 players. The NFL allowed teams to meet fully if they rostered 80 players. At 81 or higher, that team would have to meet in split squads, because of the novel coronavirus pandemic.

However, Lewerke and Hastins are making their returns after the opt-outs of six Patriots who have elected not to play during the COVID-19 outbreak: Dont’a Hightower, Patrick Chung, Marcus Cannon, Dan Vitale, Brandon Bolden and Najee Toran. That list could get longer, with players currently having an open deadline to opt out.

Lewerke, an undrafted free agent out of Michigan State, will join a quarterback room with includes Cam Newton, Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer. Hastings, an undrafted free agent from Auburn, had excellent rapport with Stidham in college, and is joining a receiver group which includes Julian Edelman, N’Keal Harry and Mohamed Sanu, among others.

League should have made team cuts required after opt out period.
