I think Toppin is a great player but that he and Dayton were severely overrated all year (and nobody can prove me wrong now). Dayton really didn't beat anybody.

So, I go with Garza. Previously, I pegged Payton because Oregon I thought was a better team and Pritchard hit so many clutch shots, but I could be convinced to go with Garza too.

Garza clear cut.

Toppin played A10 competition all year. Guy is good but Garza was insane in the BIG10.

So long as it wasnt the farce that is Powell I didnt really care tho.

Toppin is made for the NBA, Garza belongs in Europe, he reminds me of Tyler Hansbrough.

Crazy stat i saw on Garza.

In B10 play he outscored the opposing teams center by 16.9 ppg

The difference in pts between Garza and opposing centers wouldve been good enough to be the 4th leading scorer in the league

Toppins numbers against their best competition OOC was practically identical to what he did in A10 play. He was pretty consistent all year.

Garza is an NBA caliber player beating up on kids. Wish I could have seen him in the Final Four this year.

I honestly dont really see how this is even a debate

Garza scored more ppg, had more rpg and more bpg playing the same amount of mpg vs FAR better teams

Iowa BEAT 7 times as many top 25 teams this year as Dayton PLAYED.

I mean come on

Apparently lol. Garza probably wouldve gone for 35 and 15 average playing in the A10.

But yeah Obi for realz!!

This is like Boise going 11-1 in cfb ( losing to the only good team they played ) but their QB still thinking he should win the Heisman over the QB from 8-4 Auburn who had FAR better numbers and set SEC passing records.

Seems legit

I guess i dont understand the criteria for Player of the Year.

I was under the impression it was the guy who had the best year.

Apparently thats not it as Garza didnt win

Its also not the great player from the team who had the best season as Azubuike didnt win

And its also not the most clutch great player as Pritchard didnt win

Honestly im not sure if theres a single criteria i can think of based on this season where Toppin should win

But it is what it is
