Just watched the final play again. Ryan had Coleman on a slant for the win but as always he was dead set on throwing it to Julio
Yep. The Falcons blew it, but the Eagles outlasted them and put themselves in the best position they reasonably could; fortunately for them Foles is not starting the whole season.

You mean they got outplayed but got lucky and still couldn't convert.
No. I mean they had less turnovers , more yards, more opportunities to score but still lost because they didht capitalize on them lol

You're agreeing with me when you say "philly made a bunch of mistakes " . I know they did. Thats why I said that Atlanta played better . Dont be weird

And to Matt Ryan for playing like a dipshit and locking on Julio Jones
Theres so much talk about JJ not getting redzone touched but the last 2 games we keep trying to force the ball to him instead of just taking what's there

we know you're sad that the eagles won...

I'm not. They looked like total garbage. Against a competent team they would have been smoked. Lots of work to do for Philly, they did exactly what I thought the would. The only miss I had was over-rating ATL.

Sounds like the issue we had with Dez. Dallas will be a good litmus test to show if the diva WR calling for the ball is a hindrance.

I saw a couple of times where a helmet was lowered to ram someone, not called. That's a good sign.

Now lets see what happens when there are more than one primetime game going on. If national eyes aren't on a game, refs gonna screw it up.

Agreed, that was a good sign... hopefully it keeps up like that...

The crazy thing is its not even Jones complaining. Its the fans. Then it becomes a question for the coaches. Atlanta is just better when they're spreading the ball around. Ryan had at least 1 guy wide open on that last play and has other guys open throughout the game but was still fierce feeding JJ. Doesht do you any good to have great weapons if you only shoot one of them

As I watched some of the game again last night the sacks on Ryan were killer. Some of those were avoidable. It seemed like he was waiting for deep routes to open and there weren't shorter routes to throw to. There were times he could have gotten rid of the ball and didn't and took a sack instead

Didn't help that Freeman was on the sideline hurt.

Coleman is fine though ( hes actually the guy who was open on the last pass ). We just need to run the offense and throw to the open man. Seems like Sark and Ryan are really overthinking it right now

I saw another game where the Falcons ran out of gas in the 4th quarter. This is a familiar pattern that keeps appearing. That means it’s not a fluke.

That is the thing....

You can't relay on him to catch everything. Why not Coleman if he was open

Ridley
Hooper
Sanu
?????

Use what you have, not just one WR
Think about those names for a minute. Are any of them any good? Maybe Ridley someday, but as of today those 3 just aren't that good. They do kind of need to rely on Julio to catch everything. Luckily for them he's flat out elite...

I don't think the Eagles defense gets enough credit in some circles. Last year the were the 4th ranked defense in the NFL. 1st vs the run, 17th vs. the pass and 4th in scoring defense. Last season the pass defense was a weakness and I think they improved a great deal. Darby was outstanding all game even when he was covering Julio. Sydney Jones is probably getting his legs under him and played well. Jalen Mills IMO is the weak link and I believe that Sydney Jones will supplant him as the starter by mid-season.

I think the Eagles front 7 is the best in the NFL. Some homerism may apply but I doubt you will find many teams that can match the Eagles. The Rams do come to mind and to be honest I can't think of another team as good. I am not saying there aren't so if anyone want to chime in please do. I think the Cowboys front 7 is underrated but not as good IMO. The Texans also come to mind.
Rams #1. Eagles #2.:2cents:

The local slant is mostly the same...'more of the same' from the OFC is the overtone on sportstalk. The one glaring difference in Sark's OFC...they're not spreading it around nearly as much.

Bottomline...just not a clean enough game to win on the road vs a good team...OL is not really a great matchup vs this OL, normally better in pass/pro but they can't run it vs PHI.

I think the eagles D is getting plenty of credit. last year & this year.
You win Championships in the trenches & when you combine OL & DL for all teams I think the Eagles would be ranked #1 right now. I think they get plenty of credit.
