@PhoenixEagles1 is making it sound like the Lakers made TERRIBLE picks with the last two #2s

Tell me, out of the following current star players, who was considered "really good" after their first three years:

Paul George
Steph Curry
Gordon Hayward
Jimmy Butler

I heard Lavar talk about Lonzo only working out for the Lakers in an interview yesterday. He was asked what would happen if the Celtics, despite not getting a workout with Lonzo, decided to draft him anyway?

The question seemed to confuse him for a second. Then he said that if a team was willing to draft Lonzo without working him out, he'd play for that team. He said Lonzo just wants be in the NBA.

Then he ranted some more about Lonzo playing for the Lakers and "speaking it into existence."
Has it been confirmed if the Lakers have the opportunity, they will draft Lonzo or is it just conjecture based on LeVar's big mouth? I think LeVar is a funny guy, and I think he knows what he is doing.

So far, it's just conjecture. However, there are NBA sources saying that the Lakers are excited about the opportunity to draft him and that they aren't worried about Lavar's big mouth.

Apparently, a lot of GM's around the league think that Lonzo is a perfect fit for the Lakers. Some have even compared his passing ability to Magic (which would make some sense considering that's who he apparently patterns his game after).

I'm not sold on the kid, but I feel a little better about the possibility based on some of what I've read. If he can be "Magic lite" in the same way that Kobe was "MJ lite," I think us Lakers fans will be happy with him.

I am not a Laker fan, so I don't really follow them much. I heard some talk that the Celtics might draft Josh Jackson #1, that would leave the Lakers with the option of drafting Fultz, or someone else. The irony would be if Lonzo ends up dropping in the 6ers lap and they draft him. He becomes a perennial all-star. sort of like Philly Kobe became an all timer in LA.

Seriously?!? The guy averaged what? 12 points? On 41% shooting. That's terrible and you think he's better than anyone on the Lakers?

Have you ever watched an actual basketball game?

And the 2nd half if the season he averaged 20-8. Who did that on LA? No one.

Umm, if you were talking about TODAY then you wouldn't have said "over the last 3 years".

By saying 'over the last 3 years', you have time framed a history, and it is a time frame since the Lakers have had a winning season. So I did the same for your Sixers in comparing as you did. Sorry if you don't like results since it's been at least a decade of sucking for Philly, but that's how you framed it, not I.

Now it's not exactly ironic that you have done exactly what you are accusing me of. That is cherry picking history that puts your team in a positive light over my team, but you've lied to do it. The Sixers haven't sucked since 1983, and you know it. They've been to the playoffs 13 times, and in that time, they lost in the Eastern Conference Finals, and lost in the NBA Finals. That's not exactly sucking, and as a matter of fact I included a Lakers NBA Finals loss when I compared the two franchises since the Sixers have had a winning season.

Just admit it, you were trying to take a jab at Lakers fans, and it backfired on you. If you are going to take jabs, learn to roll with the punches and take the jabs that come back, instead of crying & lying about it in response. It's a bad look brother, a bad look indeed.

Yawn. It was you guys saying you have a better current roster... which would be funny if it wasn't so ridiculous. Not one guy on your team better than Embiid, Saric and most likely Ben Simmons. I'm down to bet records next year. And what's gonna really sting is when we take your lottery pick next year.... then Sacramentos in 2019.

1. Who on here said the Lakers have a better roster?
2. Saric.... :pound:
3. You need to stop being so bitter.

Kobe wanted to go to no one but the Lakers, he warned other teams in the draft that he did not want to play for them.

The Lakers might just stand pat for now. Since George didn't make an All-NBA team the Pacers won't be able to offer him that extra 70 mil when he becomes a free agent.

They can spend this season experimenting with Russell at the 2 if they decide to take a PG.

Someone a few pages back. Not being bitter just stating that the 76ers are in much better shape as of now. We finished with a better record without Embiid and another potential all star in Ben Simmons. Then we got Lakers fans saying they'd still rather have Ingram over Simmons when Ingram ain't even better than Saric. Saric really came alive the 2nd half of the season averaging 20-8.

Not sure if you guys are talking about what happened on Cowherds show but Kristine Leahy had it coming and is milking the victim card way too much.

You sure about that?

D'Angelo Russell averaged 20 points and 5 assists.

You should probably quit while you're behind.
