I don't blame the Rangers one bit for not bringing Kluber back, but motherfucker I wish this is what we got last year.

Nadel mentioned earlier that depending on tonight, Yang could stay on as a starter.

Rangers paid Kluber 18,5 million for one inning of work. They gave up Clase who has 7 saves and an ERA of 1.00 this season. 1.74 career ERA and you are going to trust the front office to rebuild this team?

it's not like they knew he was only going to pitch one inning

No team has ever been no hit 3 times in a season. Well the Rangers have 117 games left to be the first.

If our ineptitude spurs management to draft better, develop better, make better trades and go after great free agents, then it will have all been worth it. If we are to ever field a great team again, this culling process where we find a handful of current players to move forward with, is painful but necessary.

That future great team will most likely be made up of a few guys from this current roster, a few guys obtained via trade, a few well-paid free agents, a few decently-paid free agents, and several home grown or traded-for prospects. It is just going to take awhile to get there.

Glad I missed the game due to daughter baseball banquet. Guess Kluber has something left in the tank

It sounds like our farm is pretty good overall but we need some elite players to emerge. Guess that will be the difference maker. Not counting on us getting those via free agency

Copying this from my post on the Rangers subreddit, in response to people bitching about the front office failure to not re-sign Kluber:

When the Rangers traded for Kluber, it raised a ton of eyebrows because many people didn't think he had anything left. Then he went out and got hurt after literally one inning, which had everyone pissing and moaning about how much of a mistake it was to trade for him in the first place.
Now everyone is pissing and moaning that they didn't re-sign him. It wouldn't have made sense to do so even if they weren't in a rebuild. But they are, so it was 100% the correct thing to do.

This year for pitching we could have had (ERA Ranking in AL):

X. Lynn: 7GS, 1.55 ERA, 40.2 IP, 0.984 WHIP
3. Gibson: 9GS, 2.35 ERA, 54.1 IP, 1.01 WHIP
8. Kluber: 9GS, 2.86 ERA, 50.1 IP, 1.17 WHIP

X= Not qualified to be ranked based on IP, or he'd be #1.

Glad we are rebuilding in our $94M payroll that is ranked 21st... in a brand new stadium

Why stop there? Form a team with everyone we could have had. Hindsight is 20/20.
