I think it was a little early to know. Oakland drafted him last year in the 4th round. He generated a lot of buzz thus spring because of an uptick in velocity. He did well in spring training and started off very well in the minors. Had he stayed healthy the mid-season prospect lists would have probably had him fairly high in our system, maybe top 20.

the average MLB batting average is at an all time low of .237. The K rate is 24.1%, an all time high. We're in a new dead ball era, it seems. Also means we can't put all the hitting woes on this team being a bunch of fucking losers.

IKF is 4th in MLB in hits with 50. I sure don't understand why he hits so low in the lineup.

You'd like to think so. But there are so many moving parts when it comes to trading that it's never a certainty. But as it stands, Gibson should be a prime target for many teams.
