The Top 10 Rangers Prospects according to MLB Pipeline:
Jung

Foscue
Acuna
Crouse
Wendzel
Apostle
Tejeda
Are we though? Since April 15, Trevino is hitting .191 with an OPS of .458. Heim's numbers are even worse. The jury is still out on whether Huff is too tall to play the position long-term.We are loaded at the catcher position for awhile. Don’t need to draft one. We need a guy who can come in and be a solid pitcher for the next 10 years. Leiter or rocker all the way.

To me it would make the most sense to draft one of the Vandy Boys. After those two, Henry Davis makes more sense than either of the shortstops.
I will put it this way. I want us to take one of the two pitchers. If we take Lawlar, I will be upset. If we take Davis, I will understand.
Here are our OPS numbers for the last month, from the game on April 19 until last night. It is basically the numbers from our main starting nine. In other words, the players represented only differs from who is playing tonight in that I included Dahl, but not Davis. Here are the numbers in order. Can you guess who goes with which number? I gave away one in a previous post and the top one should be really easy to guess.

If you are not way above 800, I don’t think you should think you should cash in during Free agencyHere are our OPS numbers for the last month, from the game on April 19 until last night. Still think we take the best player and there is risk with a pitcher. Leiter looks more polished but from what I read he projects as a 2. But some guys bring intangibles like gamesmanship and mental toughness that is hard to measure. Seem like like for the Evan Carter right at least for now
Otherwise very hard for me to judge.
Just do t follow as much and believe it or not I like the eye test when making decisions. Remember watching Yu pitch prior to us getting him and I was 100% sold via video
Not saying Leiter is not.Right, but what determines "best player" and why wouldn't that be Leiter?
Not saying Leiter is not.
I guess the scouts and their assessment of ceilings and floor are a factor. Do think all things equal a catcher that can hit and have comps to Posey as mentioned is intriguing.
I have no real strong opinions though. Just seems like pitching is often hit or miss.
We might even land a bigger star in later rounds
very true. Never really know who's going to hit or miss. Mike Trout wasn't an overall #1.
I have been looking to try and find someone,, or two or three,to hope they slide to the Rangers with their second pick. Choosing the right guy there may be even more critical. Not saying Leiter is not.

And Donald Harris was picked by the Rangers with Frank Thomas still on the board.very true. Never really know who's going to hit or miss. Mike Trout wasn't an overall #1.
