What I find amazing is the difference between Pittsburgh and Vancouver is more travel than half the teams in the league could possibly do.

But yeah, hopefully the schedule makers will now somehow cut down on the bullshit random flying so that a road trip like the Sharks went on earlier this season can no longer happen:

Obviously the mileage won't be that high (because the teams don't fly back home after each game) but this pretty much proves that the new conferences do nothing to solve the travel issue.

Also I just want to say that I really don't worry about the amount of traveling the Sharks have had to do historically, but I know it's a big issue for a lot of people.

I'll bet the Florida teams will in the top 5 of longest travel.

As far as shortest, I'll say Pittsburgh. They are in the most closely clustered conference, and they are farther west for those west coast trips.

Fla 8-9, I was off a bit on that one.
