To piggyback on the goalie discussions upthread, if I am Team NA, I think I prefer Gibson. Not as much of a gap in technique, but Gibby just looks so unflappable. Murray is a tad scrambly, and Gibson just flows.

Nothing I saw this year suggests to me that they'll even take them. I mean, by the time Gaudreau is ready to retire Abdelkader won't even be 50 yet, and he'll be just as gritty as always.

25% of Canadians are visible minorities. If someone gets me that list of highest hockey participation rates by state and then looks up the visible minority population of those states I'm sure it'll be close to or higher than Canada's.

Given that 83% of NHLers are from North America, it's a pitiful picture.

Given the brain (I use the term loosely) trust at USA Hockey I have no confidence they will be. Granted I've had issues with USA Hockey since I was coaching a tournament team 16 years ago as well as serving on the BOD for our rec/travel/tourney/league.

From the coaching choice to the roster make up, they screwed the pooch big time.
