Thanks, that will be #11.

I am trying to save the game, but I am just one man. I welcome all serious suggestions. Another 6-8 teams would be perfect.

I think there is talent in the world for ideally 39 teams, that would be a nice and even number to build conferences and divisions around too.

3 divisions of 13 teams and after a 78 game regular season, you eliminate 7 teams. The remaining 32 are split into two brackets consisting of 16 teams each (2 Sweet 16's if you will) and it's single elimination just like the NCAA bball tourney.

There are some things in the NHL that need to be addressed. Two of the most obvious to me are the trapezoid and offside. One needs to disappear, and the other needs to be altered so that we aren't expecting NHL players to also be ballerinas doing splits on the ice.

I would even be interested in scrapping OT and Shootouts, and just ending a game at a tie and awarding both teams a point.

Also, wouldn't mind a scoring system similar to soccer, where a win is worth 3 points, and and a draw worth one. That would likely make teams fight harder for the win instead of just cruising for a draw.

Oh, and the most obvious of things.

Get Atlanta a team. Us and Houston have to be the largest cities without a team surely, so put one in both. We have proven to be a great feeder city for future Canadian teams.

This is the best thing I read all day.

Even better is I was reading this while talking to a coworker so I was trying really hard not to laugh. The mask came in handy.

What about an even strength goal counts as 2 points, a power play goal counts as 1, and a shorthanded one counts as 3 points?

Requisite: "Just grab the puck, get behind a blocker, and stuff that thing to the goal zone just like Gretzky used to do."
