I'm just wondering how long Kesler is going to live off a 2011 playoff series against Nashville?

Apparently that's all it takes for the US - same with Quick - how long is he gonna live off his first Cup run, Parise off his NJ days, Jack Johnson off his collegiate days, etc. Until you get rid of the old boys club nothing will change, end of story.

The coach is living off a cup 12 years ago.

Honest question - would you rather have Randy Carlyle, Torts, or Dallas Eakins as your team's head coach if you have to chose one of those three?

I'll take Eakins, he was thrown into a horrible situation in Edmonton that he wasn't ready for and paid the price, but he's likely learned some tough lessons which should make him a better coach. The other two guys are just fossils that the game has passed by.

agreed, you would think Eakins being so young would have learned something (ie like Vigneault did after his Habs experience)

torts and carlyle are just stubborn old dogs who have hills to die on

Eakins every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Harold Ballard must be rolling in his grave hearing the Russian national anthem being played at a Toronto hockey arena.

/At least it's not at Maple Leaf Gardens :D

And strangely enough, I am actually praying for the opportunity to see if he's learned anything.

That would insinuate that 7 years ago I didn't exhume his body in the middle of the night and sacrifice his remains to the gods both old and new with the hope that Burke wouldn't trade all of our first round picks for magic beans.

Alas, magic beans.

In a must-win game for Russia, OV had 4:26 of ice time in the first period.

Tarasenko from OV opens the scoring after Granlund rings one off the post at the other end of the ice.

Finland has a bunch of cement hands on their team and won't score unless Bob goes Bryz on us.
