Hey, in case you haven't noticed (and judging by the attendance you haven't), Game 2 of the World Cup of Hockey is starting shortly.

I have to say that I was impressed at the defensive cohesion of Team Europe. Short tourney, players from different places and backgrounds, but Kreuger managed to get them playing as a unit. Canada (hell, everyone they faced) had no flow.

I thought it wasn't possible for a coach to make any kind of difference in a short tourney...

I hope the Jackets hire Kreuger when Tortorella snaps Wennberg's neck.

This tournament was dissapointing. It was never in doubt that we would win. There was no real competition for Canada. I'm not saying that in the sense that we just dominate every country its just that we basically had a tourney of teams slapped together of players that haven't played in a few months and given days to find cohesision. At least with the Olympics they are mid season form for playing. I was never into this tournament and only watched 4 games. (Which is pretty much the tournament I guess lol) and even when Canada scored the winner last night I had no emotion. As soon as they started "celebrating" I could tell they were also not fully invested in it and seemed to just play a basic function in their lives. I did like the team Europe but not the team North America concept (contradiction /I know) I think the US would have been much better with some of the NA players and a different coaching staff. Kudos to Europe for making it to the final and actually giving Canada a elevated heart beat for about 3 mins. But did anyone outside the 16 year olds on Twitter really believe this game was not in doubt let alone this tourney. Bring on the NHL

It just shows you how dumb (maybe incompetent is a better word) Kevin Lowe and Craig MacTavish were in getting rid of Ralph Krueger after just 48 games. Of course, the topper is being fired over Skype.

Congrats to Team Canada on winning. If they do this tournament again expand it to 24 teams, have top 8 hockey nations qualify and have 9-24 in the world be in asingle elimination tournament to qualify.

.... and replaced him with a guy who's first order of business was removing the reporters' doughnuts in favour of a vegetable tray
