I want to buy a car and my options are a Ford Focus, a chevy Malibu, and a Mercedes C class...all new base models.

The C-class is obviously the better car, but if I pay $100k for it then I overpaid for it.

It's pretty damn simple but some of you are looking like real fools.

Is the difference that compelling to give up a 1st and a 4th for?

hahahaha

is it really that difficult to admit that getting Bradford was a pricey, desperate move??

Christ sake already

why the F does it matter to you and the others here?, especially non Vikings fans? let it go already. Seems to me all of you are a bit worried about how good this team can be? I can't imagine WTF would be going here if the Vikings were 0-4. I told u so I told u so:rolleyes2:

Losing a first rounder only hurts if you haven't been drafting well. They vary in worth to the various teams at various times. Having no QB and burying a season can completely destroy everything that Zimmer and the FO has built. You are a fool for not understanding the risk of doing nothing.

Bradford is one of the top paid QBs in the league.

Hill is a fucking journeyman.

Bradford's numbers are not indicative of his ability. Every single great would have Bradforded on those Rams teams.

so, the Vikings gave up the draft picks based on his "ability"?

ability, schmability - it's results that count

WOW! I guess the Vikes should have simply upped Hills contract and he'd have been perfect. Are you really basing Bradford's ability on his contrsct?

You don't pay a 1st rounder for an expensive QB to play one, maybe 1.5 years and call that a success UNLESS you win it all.

Take the team out of it...would you say the Pack overpaid if they gave up a 1st rounder for a division or conference title but no SB? Of course you would. It isn't like this is spending a 1st for the future of the team. YOu bought a stopgap, a bandaid, for a 1st rounder SOLELY because the FO thinks they can win it all. If they don't, then it was a failure.

To rent a starting QB for 1 or 2 yrs for a 1st round pick is over paying...that's a no brainer...you generally expect your 1st round picks to contribute 4 to 8 yrs depending on the position.

But...in this case over paying may be worth the risk.

The conclusion here imo...yes MIN overpaid for the QB, Was it worth it? we really can't answer that yet, but if they stay on the path they are on, this will be a lower 20s pick.

its starting to look like they didnt. They will still have an issue when Teddy comes back. What do they do. 1 has to go.

Probably get a pick back that's pretty close to the one they gave up. And they will have gotten 14-18 games of good QB play in between.

I know how good the team can be but that isn't the point. The fact of the matter is many of your commrades have a hard time admitting the obvious. It is they who are not content with having a really good kick ass team, regardless of cost

they overpaid...big deal, sellers market at the time, no question.
Still a smart move IF Minny spins a trip to the super bowl. To be determined.

true that
