He's the Derek Jeter of the NBA - a compiler, not a dominator. Okay that's not completely true. He was dominant in his early years as a Milwaukee Buck and Lew Alcindor, but he isn't really known for those years. He is known for his years as a Laker where he was rarely even the best player on his own team. But, unlike Derek Overrated Jeter, he did have a few dominant years early in his career.

those are longevity records though … all the great centers have to be compared one on one with Wilt Chamberlain … and he woulda broke Kareem in half … it took whole teams to beat Wilt …they rewrote the rulebook because of him for kryst sake

The issue with Kareem is exactly what was pointed out here by a few. It is difficult to differentiate the difference between Kareem. Wikt and Russel. Each was extremely dominant in their own time frame... AND could any of the three handle Shaq? Kareem would have given up 100 lbs to Shaq for instance. Bill 115 lbs to Shaq... And Wilt was listed at 275 lbs. That still 50lbs lighter than Shaq who used his mass effectively. For instance, among great centers.
