Oh i know. It was stupid then,I mean he was a great pick and he had a great year. But he ain't gonna protect QB1 lol

Thats all we Heard last year. Najee gonna fix our line n run game. He did neither. They just used him more to justify the pick.
Having a QB that is very good creating space & has great mobility will make a big difference… Plus when you watch KP’s tape it shows a QB that is very good throwing on the run.I'm just so confused by this. It doesn't matter who our QB is, if we can't protect him, he's gonna fucking suck.

Honestly I believe we would've been able to get Ridder in the 2nd. Not saying that he's better than Pickett or Willis but we didn't need a QB in the 1st. We need someone to protect whoever the QB is and we are paying someone a lot of money to play QB for us so I don't think we needed a QB in the 1st. With who was left, I would've rather had Linderbaum, then depending on who is available, using a 2nd on a QB.Having a QB that is very good creating space & has great mobility will make a big difference… Plus when you watch KP’s tape it shows a QB that is very good throwing on the run.
Biggest concerns about him right now are the long ball, fumbling issues & skittishness… Everything else should translate pretty damn well to the NFL
Would you have been happier with Willis?
Honestly. Im not searching for it. Pompeani, and numerous guys on the fan talked that. Get the rb, then fix the line. The rb masks the line and bad qb play , per them. If elite. It was the dumbest argument. Then when najee couldnt find a hole, the same guys beat the drum that we didnt address the line.Where did you hear that? Find a quote where someone said that.......
Yeah, anyone in the trenches. At the time. There were a few guys that went shortly after on the i Line i would of rather had. Looking back, one of the two centers. IIRC i just wanted someone in the trenches, and felt a few were available. If i did not answer , my apologies, not trying to duck anything.I asked you last year who you would have taken instead and you had no answer......now Pickett is a better pick than Najee?
This doesn’t really make sense but I’ll work with it.Honestly I believe we would've been able to get Ridder in the 2nd. OL should've been the focus, not QB. QB was probably the 3rd need for us behind OL and WR. QB should not have been our 1st rd pick. IMO, signing a bridge guy and drafting a rookie doesn't make sense. This doesn’t really make sense but I’ll work with it.
Pickett is the only QB in this class worth a 1st Rd grade and I have no problem with the pick. I said it back in January that I hope they find a bridge guy AND draft a rookie. Doing this is a heavy price to pay for long term stability. I get it though, with other positions needing instant impact players & Pickett may not start so it’s a tough pill to swallow. But finding a capable solution at QB is the focus now, and I can’t fault them for wanting to cast a wide net to increase their chances.
I’m not knocking the Pickens or Leal picks either, simply because this team should never be doubted when it comes to its WR or DL picks. Their history at those positions simply offers tremendous promise. However I would have liked to see OL in the mix because C is still questionable right now. They should have someone emerge out of Cole, JCH & Green but who knows how reliable that will be. Maybe they focus on OL & DB now.
Just FYI they aren’t paying any of their QBs very much for the next couple years. $12m cap hit per year total for all 3 rostered right now. That’s half the cap hit most teams pay for 1 guy. 3 for half the price of 1. That doesn’t handicap them from exploring other QBs next offseason neither. Nothing about these contracts hinders them from keeping their options open from here on out
The ONLY argument against this pick is that Pickett isn't the guy or Trubisky is. There was no greater need than finding the next guy at the position. None, and it's not even close. Arguing that QB wasn't our greatest need is ignoring the current state of the NFL. You either have a franchise QB or you don't compete. Period.OL should've been the focus, not QB. I disagree. O-Line was more important. The ONLY argument against this pick is that Pickett isn't the guy or Trubisky is. There was no greater need than finding the next guy at the position. Who sent this to you?! I need to ban them from my draft night parties forever!
We didn’t forget. We just value QB higher right now. While I do hold OL to somewhat comparable value overall, they invested a lot of money in FA to patch up the OL so it isn’t as high of a need. No it isn’t perfect, but it should be more serviceable than it was the last couple seasons.I obviously wish Pickett nothing but success and will root for him, but I just don't think we NEEDED a QB at 20. Y'all forget we went 8-6 and we were almost a playoff team with Mason Rudolph and Duck Hodges as the starting QBs, we would've been just fine with Trubisky as our starter, hence why I don't think we needed a QB in the 1st. Yes, the defense kept us in those games because the offense sucked, but the offense is better off with Trubisky as our QB in 2022 than our offense was in 2019 with Mason and Duck. I hope to be pleasantly surprised this season and proved wrong this season.
Eh. Just realize that no team in the NFL prioritizes OL over the QB position. Nobody agrees with you.I disagree. O-Line was more important.
