Which QB would you want? DT or Pro style?

We're recruiting a pro-style guy from Norco, CA for 2020. Looks like he has a big arm.

Matt Jones was one of my favorite players ever to watch play. If it was 4th and 5 and I needed one play to win the game? I'm taking the dual-threat every time. However over the course of an entire game you'll need a guy who can consistently move the chains with his arm and most dual threats are pretty boom or bust. For our style of offense I think we need a dual threat though, too many times I've been frustrated playing against a guy like Manziel where we'll have 3 defenders about to sack him and he'll escape for a big gain. There's just something satisfying about that ability to make something out of nothing on offense.

Disagree. Bakers ability to extend plays with his feet most definitely make him DT. He had over 1000 career rushing yards and 21 rushing TDs.
Maybe, but if he was 6-4, 220 he'd have been thought of as a pro style who could move a little.

Might have been posted before but recently heard a great story about Baker the OU (and Browns) fans will love.

In his first series against the Jets right after he came in a Jets LB was screaming at him, "I'm coming to pound you. This ain't the B12".

Baker replied, "I don't even know who the F you are."

Depends on the offense you run.

In Georgia's offense that relies heavily on a big o-line and stud running backs, I'd rather have an accurate QB that makes good decisions with the ball.

Even head coaches don't just stay to one type, well except Leach lol.

It depends on the overall skillset as much as which overall type they are. In the OP's post I'd probably rather have the taller one.

However in general terms college teams can do more with a dual threat because if their arm isn't on that day their legs still can be. It's harder for defenses at the college level to account for that extra threat.

In the pros I'd much rather have a big arm with pocket presence. Not that guys like Wilson make decent exceptions. Purely just speaking in generalities.

I prefer any QB who doesn't turn the ball over. Don't care whether they are pro-style or DT as long as they protect the ball and make good decisions.
