Thanks @PumpFake for going back to this thread. I just went back and looked at Cooper's play and been very impressed.
Jonathan Cooper isn't the athlete Malik Reed is - and Reed is the better pure pass rusher, but Cooper's use of his hands is very effective - he knows how to counter the tackle's various techniques. Where he seems to really set himself apart from Reed is his ability to anchor and be an effective defense against the run (Reed is below average with that) - plus Cooper has an amazing motor to continue his pass rush and his counters as long as the play continues - which gives him lots of late in the play opportunities against the QB. He had great training at Ohio State -and appears to be a big time value in this last draft.
