We have two 5 star QBs in HS playing about 10 miles from each other here in So Cal and are going to be in the 2020 class. One is the #1 dual threat. The other big , big arm and runs in HS but might now run as much in college and is the #1 pro style.

A- DJ Uiagalelei- 6-4" 240 and can throw like 70 yards from his knees.

B- Bryce Young- 5'11" 170 lbs

We haven’t had much luck lately with undersized QB’s that can scramble, so definitely the Pro style QB.

Going to lots of practices has taught me that the better QB is who make good decision when the play breaks down and the one who is very good at moving the chains. Too many people get hung up on things that don't matter like DT or Pro Style.

Pro Style.

If you can't throw, don't want you.

I think we are slowly getting to the point where the DT QBs are learning how to throw when they need to.

Yeah I'll take that over DT any day

That DT QB is committed to USC ( yeah , yeah we know that's not any guarantee. lol). He actually played his freshman and soph season at my old HS so I watched him grow as a QB. I have also seen DJ play a few times because a good friends son goes there and is on the JV team. I'm glad Bryce is going to USC but man that big kid is amazing to watch play.

Not buying it. If you can show me one with all the skills of a ProStyle and also has wheels to go along with it, that's awesome. But most DT QB's are the ones where they are mostly run and they get people open because defenders are worried about the QB running.

But being a pocket passer and meeting the requirements of "Pro Style" should be the absolute minimum for a QB. DT should mean "Pro Style + legs" but it doesn't. It's not really DT.

Well when a play breaks down a true pro style QB either throws the ball away or dumps to his safety valve , usually his back t avoid the sack. If he's a bigger QB who can hangle bodies around him ala Rothlesburger he could hit someone who just broke open. The DT QB could make a huge play out of it still much more often than a pro style.

For me the DT is harder to defend these days but a pro style kid with size is still what i'd rather have. JT Daniels whos at USC right now is pro style and as good a thrower as you can get from years of training but he's about 6'0 which means when shit breaks down he's done.

Thats why I said slowly getting there. I think Deshaun Watson is a good example of a DT QB who can still be effective when a play requires the QB to stay in the pocket. I think thats what is coming down the road. More QBs with that skill set.

Yeah I'll take a Watson any day of the week. But those are rare and DT generally means "runner", which are really just single threats.

Kyler Murray DT
Baker Mayfield DT
Sam Bradford Pro
Jason White Pro

Won with them all. All of em broke QB records. All Heisman winners.

All of them had 1k+ yard rushers. All had elite Olines.

Defense man. Defense. I will say this though. Kyler and Baker were more successful with their style, the defense let us down.

In Sam and Jason's style their lack of extending plays cost us. Their 2 title games we lost because the offense fluttered.

I think DT is better. You just gotta have a good D.

A QB that can score points. Haven’t had one of those in years.
