If the Nuggets win a title in the Jokic era, great. If not, I don't need it to validate myself as a fan.

You see, there it is. That's the difference between myself and Lakers fans...
Indeed...Lakers fans root for titles. You have your own special way of rooting for a team that fits your franchise(s) better.

You're even a Cubs fan which is basically the same thing (2016 notwithstanding of course)

When the tired narrative exists that LeBron is a "one-man dynasty", of course titles are the expectation and in turn it becomes validation.

The reality is that there's no such thing as a one-man dynasty and 29 out of 30 teams don't have that luxury anyway, therefore validation through titles is a no-win path.
Well of course. It's a no-win path to expect teams like the Pacers and Nuggets to win titles, because they don't.

The Lakers have 17 titles...Lebron has been on the team for exactly 1 of them.

Another fail by you.

If that's all it is, then let's just see how those "expectations" work out for you when LeBron leaves to go play with his children.

I'd expect it will be very much like when Wilt, the Logo and Gail Goodrich left, when Kareem, Magic and Worthy left, when Shaq left and when Kobe and Pau's run ended.

There will be a period of a few years where they are a fringe playoff team or worse as they figure out the best way to get back in the hunt.

It's literally what they've been doing since the 60's and why fan expectations are where they are.

Honestly, I was not validated by the 2016 title like most were. That team simply good too good too fast to the point the hype got excessive (the Cubs are the lone large market in the NL Central)...

If anything, it was embarrassing watching the 2018 team blow a five-game lead to the Brewers with a month to go. It's as if the team got cocky and didn't legitimately believe the Brewers were a threat to them.

Later this month I'm going to get a replica ring for the 2022 South Bend Cubs winning their league title. That's honestly going to be more validating for me than watching the 2016 major league team win on TV...

Should be, because the Clippers should serve as proof that the Nuggets would not be as loved in LA as they are in Denver.

Denver is not a bad market. It could theoretically attract star players if the right situation presented.

But it isn’t LA.

Clippers being owned by Donald Sterling prevented success. Since Balmer has taken over, they have landed stars. Just got the wrong ones it appears.

Only a matter of time before the Clippers win a ring.

How the Clippers doing?

(i.e. still a more coherent FO than the Lakers)...

Yep, that Kawhi/George pairing is really bearing fruit.

Lakers could very well pass them in the standings this week.

Eh.... I wouldn't be so sure. At least not in the next 5, 6, 7 years or so. After that, nobody knows.

The Kawhi/PG duo isn't going to win anything.

I would bet against almost any team to win a title in the next 5-7 years.

Point is they have an advantage and an owner willing to capitalize.

They will get 1 eventually.

Where ever it is, more than likely, they won't win anything of importance.
