Game Thread: Week 9: Cleveland Browns at Denver Broncos

Well the team has been playing hard, and the Browns are having way more success then I would have liked to see them have against the Patriots. This is going to to be an interesting game. From what I heard the Browns struggle with zone defense and that is what the Broncos want to play. We will have to contain Chubb as he is an explosive back that could be a game changer. Landry and Beckham are better then average as well. Their defense appears to be pretty good also. It is my impression that the Browns are a bit like Denver and they find ways to lose games instead of win games.

This game is wild card now. The Browns are not very good and tend to turn over the ball, but what will the Brandon Allen lead offense look like? I expect that the Browns will load the box and force the Broncos to throw the ball and hope to take advantage of the inexperienced Allen. I would expect that this is a defensive battle if there are not a lot of turnovers, and that does seem possible.

Allen will lead Denver in rushing running for his life.

I would expect Cleveland to load up the line of scrimmage and force Denver to pass. I am hoping that is the plan coming out of the gate. Maybe lob one deep to Sutton and see if we can back them off early. A running game would help Allen be successful, but we likely will need to throw it to open up the running game.

Hoping Allen can go out and make some quick, smart decisions and be accurate with the ball. Make the defense have to respect the pass which Flacco failed to do. Need a QB to take the top off the defense. Give Lindsay and Freeman a little running room.

Could be a good game. Could be a nightmare. But at least it ain't Flacco.
