Game Thread: Week 9: Cleveland Browns at Denver Broncos

Well, it wasn't what I was planning on watching but I will be attending this game. Wasn't expecting to see a 2-6 football team with Brandon Allen at the helm but it is what it is. At least it's supposed to be sunny and warm(er). These zero degree temps this week have been brutal. Fall moved into winter pretty quickly. Kinda like our Broncos.

Take it for what it is .. Brandon Allen throws 7 TDs going 30 for 43 and 406 yds thru the air vs Mississippi State ..

He looks good in this game .. At least from this vid, he deals with the blitz and is constantly throwing downfield

Could Jersey Joe have been an anchor for this offense ?? .. I'm actually pretty excited about Sunday's game vs the Browns ..

I’m excited just to be moving on from Flacco. Allen May crash and burn, but I’m confident he’ll at least have his heart in it.

And we see unknown backups make starts and win all the time in the league. So 3-6 is a real possibility.

Allen was very inconsistent in college. Saw the good and the bad... I'm all for him getting an opportunity but I expect more poopy play byt this team. Mostly because they haven't proven us much otherwise since our SB run 5 years ago. Maybe I'll be surprised.

Denver backup plan in a win now season was Brandon Allen who was not on the team in TC followed by undrafted FA Rypien while the QB they traded up for in the 2nd round is standing around playing VR. Just plain strange Plan B.

I agree that it seems like a strange Plan B. I am hoping that Flacco ends up on IR and Lock starts practicing next week. I really wish Drew would have been practicing already, but that is not the plan. We will see the plan as we progress through the second half the season.

Never mind, it doesn’t even matter. Don’t look now but that’s what every GM says every year. It’s bad for business if they get up there and say, “yeah we’re just hoping to avoid a losing season again.”

Seriously I think I tend to be more optimistic than most around here and even I had a hard time believing this team would be better than 8-8. The Broncos were never a “win now” team heading into 2019. The Chargers were, even the Chiefs. Not the Broncos.

Technically Flacco is still in the room, but that will be the case for the active QBs soon.

It is not ideal but given the QB situation last year and the last few years not surprising.

I love when people talk about Elway rebuilding. What’s he on the 10 year rebuild plans that involves signing as many below average QB’s as we can?

100% agree with this. QB’s are hard as hell to find. But we haven’t hired a good staff. You hated Vance Joseph so don’t act like you have suddenly been happy go lucky with every hire either. Shit, you claimed you quit watching Denver Bronco football for a year because of the head coach.
