I understand you play Howell, but we could be 6-6 with Wentz. Is that out of the playoffs? The defense just shut down the 2nd best team in the NFC. So you want to throw the season away?
You are assuming the team is 6-6 and you are assuming they beat the Falcons. You have been saying that for weeks because you know you are 2 loses away from your 11 win prediction falling apart.

The team still has to play the Eagles. Cowboys, NYG (twice) and the 49ers. We will probably lose 4 or those 5 right?

Stop promoting Wentz as the savior of the team. He isn't!

Here is how a Wentz would do.

Open TM, pass to high.

Wentz holds the ball too long and gets sacked.

Wentz drop off pass for two yards…and a punt.

NEXT SERIES

Wentz holds the ball too long, strip sack turnover.

RINSE AND REPEAT

Give Wentz the defense that TH has been given

The Commanders have enough weapons to overcome TH’s lack of arm strength. The OF should be rolling him out 10x a game, and reversing or fake options or real
Options or wildcatting with the TE/Qb who ran the play today, or whatever.

He’s a limited playcaller calling limited games.

This fact is compounded by the bad oline and TH’s arm stength.

The coaching staff and wentz have to go. Wentz sucks. Wentz’s stature and arm strength combined with TH’s moxie and guts would be a top ten qb in the league.

Since both have half of what they need, they both shouldnt start for long. The difference is that moxie and guts, plus the occasional spin-o-rama for a first down and passion on the field rallies the team and gets the fans jazzed.

Plan:
New ownership gets new gm who fires everybody and hires great coaching staff. Kellen Moore as OC? Somebody from reid’s staff? Somebody else from Buffalo’s staff? I dont know.

Sign TH to a 3 year contract as a backup $12 million. 3 yrs, $12m. The dude’s tge best backup qb in the league.

Coach up Howell or draft a qb or both.
Finally...a realistic gameplan moving foward.

I don't want to hear about Carson Wentz or Scott Turner after this season. What an unmitigated disaster. Dean is still claiming Wentz can get us in the playoffs...sigh.

I want us to raid the Chiefs front office...we need to develop a winning culture here and we need the right folks to do that.

RR threw Wentz under the bus even more when he said "quarterback" when asked what separates the other teams from those in the division. You are the only one advocating for Wentz to get the job back. Wentz is done and there is no reason to have him start again.

Yes, the team is that bad and Wentz would make it worse. TH is 2-1 while Wentz was 2-4. We need to hold on to that 2nd round pick...especially if a new owner and most likely, a new GM is coming in.

we just went toe to toe with the 2nd best team in the conference and you say the team is bad. Give Wentz teh defense that TH has been getting and lets see. You really think RR gives a crap about that 2nd round pick that the team is being sold?

gotta give the guy a chance.
Dean, Wentz has a chance you made up every excuse in the book for him. You blamed the OLine, Turner, Receivers and Scott Turner. Why is that TH gets none of those excuses.

Give it up already. Wentz is out of here next year along with Rivera and Turner.

I don't think Rivera gives a crap about the 2nd rounder because he has no idea what he is doing.

FACT: Rivera has had 4 straight losing seasons and is on his way to a 5th.

FACT: The team team responds better to TH than to Wentz

FACT: The defense played well today but we got a TD due to pure luck.

Let me ask you this, does the offense look better with TH or Wentz?

What is your fascination with Wentz?
Do you still think Turner is a good OC?
Do you still think we get 11 wins?
Do you still think Rivera "has done ok" with what he has?

Rivera might THINK he is going to be retained...I hope he keeps Wentz on the bench. The bottom line is that Wentz played poorly during half of the games he started for us. You can blame the OLine, Turner, or whatever you want. However, he was awful against the Eagles and Cowboys. He will face them again and then face the Giants.

Let me be blunt...do you want Wentz to start the rest of the year and do you want him here in 2023? Is he worth that 2nd round pick or NOT?

wow. the guy had to play better teams. TH can't make the throws to win games. Today was the perfect example. Blame caoching all you want but he missed the 4th down throw to Terry and the INT was just a horrible throw to a wide-open Thomas who is 6-6. he hits those throws we probably win the game.
Wince can't make the basic throws that keep drives alive.

The Skins were 6/17 on 3rd dn n 0-2 on 4th dn against the Eagles. and didn't register an offensive point in the game till the 4th qt 2 min warning totaling 6 offensive points scored for the game.

Against Dallas they were 5/15 on 3rd dn, 0-2 on 4th dn. Their 2nd qt TD against Dallas was the first time they scored in the 1st half in 3 games. They did almost double up their offensive point total from the game before putting up 10 points for the game.

Against Tenn they were 1/11 on 3rd dn n 1/2 on 4th dn. They did score 17 points thanks in large part to Wince's big asrm, but thanks to his decision making which at times is as bad or worse than Taylor's. He also threw the game clinching INT to a Tenn LB from the Tenn 2 yd ln going 0-3 on 1st, 2nd n 3rd dn.

Against Chi the Skins were 2/11 on 3rd dn scoring 12 points with their only TD drive that night going all of 6 yards after recovering a muffed punt.

That's 15/60 on 3rd n 4th dn for a 25% success rate and 47 total points scored or 11.75 pt per game. Which is a great recipe for going 1-3 every 4 games.

And this is not an endorsement of Taylor. From a physical perspective of throwing the ball. He's far more limited than Wince with both having serious issues with decision making and accuracy. Taylor does contain a certain amount of it or charisma, but due to his physical limitations. It gets him into as much or more trouble than the benefits it provides. Neither one is suitable to be a long term starting NFL QB imo.

Great post Breed

There is simply no reason to have Wentz come back in given your research and the eyeball test. Dean wants the trade to be a success because he based his 11 win season on it.

The numbers are the numbers and it does NOT paint a pretty picture for Wentz.

The team is different with TH b/c teh defense is playing a hell of alot better

No fascination, I jsut think he is the better QB

No I do not.

No, but i think we can get 9.

RR took a big step back this year IMO from a Coaching stand point,. Now that the team will be sold of course he isnt coming back unless whe goes on a huge winning streak.

Hell, I wanted the trade to be a success. With Wince playing at a level that he would warrant serious consideration for Comeback Player of the Year. That's what I was hopeful would happen. The reality of the situation though is far different and I see no point in continuing to hope a sqaure peg will somehow fit in a round hole.

I'm ready to see Howell, been ready for that. I don't see it happening though. RR is not gonna put his fate in the hands of a 5th rd rookie.

Wentz has played way better teams than TH and the defense has played better with TH. Not a fair comparison. I want to see if Wentz can get us to 6-6. If not go to Howell. IF we are 6-6 going into the two Giants games and Wentz wins both Giants games to get us to 8-6, then yes I want him to start the whole year.
