Nope , if it’s a touchback it’s 80 yds to go . If we pin them back even more . If you go for it and miss it it’s at the 37 , not the 44 . He missed it horribly, and forbid it got blocked as long Fga’s tend to do especially with a new trio working it . The strategy also failed He missed the kick , demoralized the defense who gave up the TD on a short field and only divine intervention stopped the 2pt conversion.
The defense was already demoralized having given up 3 straight scoring drives letting the Saints back in the game. The offense was getting manhandled n the coaching out-coached.The Skins were on the verge of letting what looked to be an easy victory into an embarrassing ass paddling. A made FG would've made all that moot. Was it a risk? Sure, but imo it was worth the gamble.

you fail to acknowledge that a 54 yard dome kick will be taken every time to win a game.

I would say at least half the coaches would have made the correct call of punt in that exact situation.

Look, if you have a kicker that has been with you a coup,e of weeks and has proven he can make that kick, sure. This situation was completely different.

Yes…on a short field to a third string QB with 1::55 and one time out, to a team that had only scored 13 up to that point.

So both, DQ's Kicker and defense failed him. In the last 2 minutes. The other 4 examples i mentioned the offensive players failed him.

disagree. you are treating Joseph as a rookie kicker. Didnt help that it was a bad snap

Yes. And he put them both in a position to fail. Now you are getting it.

he put the team in a position to win now with the fg attempt. Even if the kicker missed, which he did, he put trust in his defense to stop them which they didnt. How in the world is this on DQ?

DQ has been aggressive all year and its one of the reasons why we have 9 wins. To blame this guy is crazy

I am not treating him like a rookie. Hell, I would take a rookie.

I am treating Joseph as a questionable kicker who had been with the team for four days.

Joseph had not kicked since 28 October.

that doesn't matter. what about the kid from the Vikings who came in for their injured kicker and did very well

DQ put the team in a position to win? So had he punted, wouldn’t he have still put the team in a position to win? So by your logic, DQ can do no wrong because it is all on the players to execute.

To blame DQ for what? We won. I blame DQ for his singular decision that put us in a position to lose.

No b/c he took the opportunity away to seal the game with a made FG. You take that shot for a FG b/c we could have lost with a score and 2 point conversion. You go down swinging. He gave his team the opportunity to end it with a kick. Nothing wrong with that IMO.

Plus, Chinn was out, that hurts the secondary to try to stop the Saints from scoring and getting the 2 point conversion. All the more you go for the FG to end it

He passed on the opportunity to seal the game by not punting

They scored on every possession since changing QBs.

This conversation, while interesting, is completely off track for those of you who thought the team to be less than it has proven itself to be. According to some of you they are now playing with house money having exceeded your expectations, correct?
Have you now changed those expectations to something else, or do you still see them in full rebuild mode? What happened to "just seeing what we have?" (And what they don't) The team is now a 9-5 contender for a playoff berth and currently holds the final entry into the postseason, after winning their 9th game, I'd think that getting another unexpected win would boost your happiness, instead of how they got it. Oh well, my rant is over, perhaps there's more of this to come if they somehow get another 1 point victory over Philly. Carry on!

We are ahead of schedule and we are seeing what we have and what we need .i don’t see why one can’t multitask

We have to be happy with the direction of the team and the resources we have going into the future .

In the end this year is already successful as we accomplished and exceeded expectations and goals

This team is not ahead of schedule, let me repeat that, They are not ahead of schedule!
Such a perspective flies in the face of everything that this group represents and has verbally expressed publicly, not to mention the many posts from the few posters who looked at this group, the schedule, their deficiencies, and posted for all to see their potential and their limitations.

Outside of kicker, which was a separate issue, those limitations are the same things that group members are still talking about. It's puzzling to note that there are folks who can't or refuse to see the obvious when they...well...are obvious. I've got a question though... is "ahead of schedule" some sort of code for being too close to properly evaluate?
