Azarenka's forehand has impressed me today. Normally I like her backhand more, but good controlling forehand today.

Serena did some major chocking in this match, tbh. She could have lost this.

Congrats to Serena.

I don't think Azarenka shook the umpire's hand? She could have just forgotten, lost in the emotion of things.

Congratulations, Serena. Actually this match should have been over long time ago. But just like Cincinnati where Serena was serving for the match at 5-4 and gave it up, this one took longer because of the conditions and Serena's usual reliable and best serve in women tennis history deserting her. In any case congratulations to my Vika who put up a valiant effort against the champion.

Headcase final. Only about 10 games in those 3 sets that were high level tennis.

Glad Serena won it, but it was not a great match. Tense, though.

Hoping for higher quality tomorrow, and I doubt I'll be disappointed.

I will, but it just won't be the same. Besides, I'm gonna spoil myself anyway.

LOL.

During the past few years, during the FO or Wimbledon, I've accidentally seen some tennis scores that were spoiled for me. Most of the time it was my fault, but a few times it was during those "sports scores every 20 mins. update" on the radio that caught me off-guard.

Fat chance of a blockbuster on Monday. Rafa now has the mental advantage over an exhausted Djoker. I think it may be over in three.

Don't bet on it considering the gusty conditions Serena and Vika found themselves. Hoping for better conditions tomorrow, otherwise it will follow the same pattern regardless of the spectacular tennis these two have produced in the past.

Oh, come on, stop giving excuses already for the World's number 1 player. Djokovic also had a day off as well as the fact that he is one of the most well-conditioned tennis players, this excuse is stale.

Ok, Djokovic will win in three. Happy? My personal tragedy is I wont be able to get home before 6 or 6:30. So I hope I can still catch some of it.

I usually don't put much into exhaustion, whether it's tennis or the MLB/NBA playoffs.

We've seen both Djokovic and Nadal have long 5-setters in the SFs, while their opponent had an easier time, yet still prevail in the finals.

During the 2009 AO, Nadal had a tougher last few rounds, but prevailed in the Finals.

During the 2012 AO, Djokovic had a tougher last few rounds, but prevailed in the Finals.

I think these things usually come down to tactics, or decision-making and shot selection. These guys can play for hours.

If someone was nursing an injury, I'd put a little more into exhaustion, but both seem fine.

Same with MLB playoffs or NBA playoffs. A team with a tougher earlier round vs. the next opponent, can still prevail (because of the days off in between, IMO). It's more about matchups or a few plays here and there.

Some of it is that both players were good returns, but I also think the unforced errors and missed 1st serves were high too.
