JJ Watt recently signed a deal that pays him almost twice that a year. Suh is probably going to get something in the area of $15 million a year, and possibly more. Hell, he had a $12.5 million base this past year, and had a $22 million cap hip. You think he's going to take a $5 million+ pay cut?

It won't happen because your scenario is completely unrealistic, not because of how the Niners operate (though they aren't going to pay an outside FA $15 million).

I don't know what he will take. Im saying what I would pay for him. 8-9 mill a year. No way a team gives him that much. In the long run I do think Lions either Franchise tag him or sign him. 10 mill is the most I would pay for Suh. As of right now it is realistic because no one knows what these guys want or what the market will be.

Just saying, Suh got that $15 million per year after all. Closer to $20 million.

Just reported 49ers have 18.4 mill in cap space and that is with J. Smith on the team. What are we doing? We need to add some pieces. I thought we would be more aggressive after losing Crabtree, Iupati, Willis, Cully and others.

it is not about spending because you have space, nor adding big names because you need to make a "splash". You still seek FA's who fit your schemes and provide value.

even if we carry cap space into next season, better than forcing FA's. You could always use that space to extend your own.

Still some big names available out there. Some are aging vets but still big names. Not sure if we go after any of them at the right price. I still think we need to sign a CB. Is anyone ok with bringing back Tarell Brown? If the price isn't bad I wouldn't hate the move.

Wright is out highest paid CB. The guy who led the league in PI. I don't get it.

I saw a CB ranking last week somewhere and he was low on the list. I don't understand it either. At least it is a one year deal. Hopefully one of these rookies makes an impact

Look if he was a player to replace Cook as that Hope it works out type of move I would get it but to bring both of these guys in make no sense. It looks like we are drafting Secondary for the 3rd year in a row. We are going CB unless Parker falls.

I just realized Kyle Wilson is still available. I would love to give him a shot. He was a first round pick with a ton of talent. He would be a luxury pick for the low salary.

Sterling Moore is going to visit the Steelers tomorrow and after that he is coming to visit the 49ers. I feel like he would be a good #3 or #4 CB for us. He played pretty good last year for Dallas. He had a few bad games but overall I think it was good.

Well I think it's obvious the team is taking a CB, WR, and MLB fairly early in the draft.

Any MLB that we can bring in. Im hearing Brooks is moving inside. Lynch, Bowman, Brooks and Smith. Not bad. Just have no depth. Brooks use to me a ILB.

Lawrence Timmons age 28 ex-Steeler, Rolando McClain age 25 ex-Cowboy, Brandon Spikes age 27 ex-Bill, DJ Williams age 32 ex-Bear and Casey Matthews age 26 ex-Eagle are prolly the best ILBers left in FA.

IF one fits?

But don't force one because we're short on numbers now. There is obviously the draft, but also more cuts as the off season progresses.

I was about make the same point...although the media has us fans in a state of panic, shit happens, we have to refocus on the draft, and wait to see if there's any value after cuts are made. No use in reaching like so many teams have done this FA period...fools are throwing cash around like crazy.

Where are you hearing that? Brooks was a throwaway player at ILB. At OLB, he was (at least for a time) a borderline pro bowl player.
