going back to the discussion about the mizzou game last night, one thing that i didn't like about helu is that he was a one cut back. don't get me wrong he was a great one, and i have nothing against 1-cut backs, but i love backs that arent afraid to completely reverse the field. burkhead does it a little but not much, im hoping one of these incoming frosh will be that kind of back, just to mix it up a bit

Then you will love abdullah and Green. Heards more of a 1 cut burner but if you watch his tape he can do it all. My depth chart predic:

1. Duh 2. Green 3. Heard 4. abdullah (most likely the back up to burkhead for 3rd down passing situations)

i think, it will be 1. heard 2. green 3. abdullah....i think he will get used in a lot of ways, sometimes out in the slot, you know...moved around a lot. and the only reason i don't have green as #1 is because of his hype...all that hype seems to always lead to a letdown

Does anyone think we'll be seeing no huddle? Or if we do, will that be kept in the closet for Wisconsin?

Was just watching the pump up vid posted above. Was thinking what an absolute nightmare it would be as a defense to face T-Magic and co. running a no huddle.

The no huddle is possible, depends on the QBs grasp of the new offense. I think we'll see at least some

I think I saw an article a month or two ago that said the players were saying the new offense was a no-huddle. It'd be interesting to see. It seems if I remember rightly the only time we've tried it outside of scripted plays to start a game has been disastrous.

i have heard rumors of a no huddle. i think the eventual goal it to be as fast as oregon, but with a lot more power football. no all power, but a lot more than recent years...of course i don't actually know, this is just my guess

irule- sounds reasonable

SecLand- I think I read/Heard something similar to you. But as far as last year, I'm throwing that out the window. There's a new OC in charge.

I like what you're saying there Brasky. The scout on abdullah talks about his hands out of the backfield and what a threat he is catching the ball.

Will be fun to watch this all shake out in the fall. I love all three of those backs and the impression each has made in interviews, etc. Not to mention their highlights.

Has Nebraska ever had a RB class like this one?

If Martinez is in fact completely recovered from his cankle injury we are going to be pretty nasty in the backfield.

I just got a call from my fridge, it was beer again:hungry:

From the OWH a Beck quote: "I have a lot of toys to play with," he said. He praised receivers Kenny Bell and Jamal Turner. He noted redshirt freshman guard Jake Cotton and freshman tackle Tyler Moore made strong impressions in spring camp, too, for an offensive line that could have "10, 11, 12 guys fighting for starting jobs."

Beck says Martinez is 'biggest surprise' - Omaha.com

If there are really 12 legit linemen in the mix...hurrah.

T-Mart could be a huge threat this year, but it worried me that his passing was total shit in the spring game.

watching the replay of the missouri game on tv last night, his throwing motion is SO BAD. it doesn't even look like it can be fixed. it is literally the worst mechanics i have ever seen. i have 0 faith that he can fix that motion. thats not to say that he cant be a good passer though...its just saying that his mechanics are horrible, which obviously can effect accuracy

I hope it's really, really hard to tell who the best linemen are because they're all beastly, ass-kicking, pancake specialists who make IHOP look weaksauce in comparison.

someone made a very very good point over on huskerboard. what if taylor had had a slow start, that looked like his last 4 games, then finished the season as greatly as his first few games. how crazily excited would we be. and imagine how much trash talking we would be doing
