aaaaand there we go.Top-ranked JUCO CB and former 5* recruit Kendall Sheffield to announce soon. Heavily favored to go to Ohio State, especially with Darnay Holmes picking UCLA. With Conley leaving and Lattimore very likely to declare, he would likely slide into a starting spot next season.
From what I was reading, it actually was about playing time. His academics were fine. Given his experience level he will be a heavy favorite to lock down one of the starting spots. Not sure what to think of that. Things like play time and distance to home are still there. Never really heard why he left Bama. It's not like Bama had stud CBs ahead of him. 1 Freshmen starter at CNN was moved to Safety (Minkah)

I'm thinking he isn't scared. Maybe it just wasn't the right fit, who knows. He obviously has talent and he has great size. If he's scared, we'll find out soon enough. OSU has defensive back talent for days, and obviously we know how to properly develop them. That would scare me. I like my JUCOs dumb or troubled. Scared isn't good

I guess us moving freshman ATH Brendan White and 3rd year DB Eric Glover-Williams to WR spooked him. Either way, reasonably big loss for OSU.

Never heard them come up in his recruitment but it would make sense. You guys love your short, speedy WRs. From what I saw before he committed it was down to OSU, Nebraska, Oregon and USC was in the distance.Curious if Oklahoma might be on his radar. They pull some guys from Bishop Gorman.

Dead period hasn't started yet - I think it's tomorrow. They probably sold him on week 1 playing time, which we can't guarantee. It was odd, he tweeted out some pro-OSU tweet like Monday and then decommitted last night. Like I said, I think shifting White and EGW to WR probably made it seem like he was going to be joining a crowded room, which isn't exactly incorrect. Even losing Samuel and Brown, we have a ton of top-end young talent at the position, and we're likely picking up Harris from Cleveland soon. This one doesnt really make since
There is speculation that he is headed to Nebraska now and that Nebraska "sold him" on something good.
Not sure how they could have though considering we are in a dead period? Just a bizzare situation going on.

To be honest, I'm fine with this. We have two smaller playmakers on offense in McCall and now EGW, not to mention JK Dobbins who is listed as an all-purpose back and just arrived on campus. With Victor, Mack, Parris Campbell, Terry McClaurin, KJ Hill, and now Grimes, White, and likely Jaylen Harris, he wasn't at the top of my list of "must-keep" recruits.
Nobody knows which position Lindsey would've been though. People assume when they see short WRs that they would be slot guys but he played more on the outside in HS than he did in the slot, so it's hard to say. I would actually say Harris and White won't be playing the same position, as Harris is an outside guy while White is more likely to play the Jalin Marshall role, moving in and out.He tweeted his decommitment at like Midnight West Coast Time too, the whole things kind of weird, to each his own I guess though. Still kinda sucks to lose him, but i'm sure we will be fine.
It might be a crowded room, but it's a totally unproven room and I doubt anybody is being assured playing time.
Harris and White definitely arent at the same position Lindsey would have been.
EGW is switching positions and playing WR for the first time in his college career 3 years in.
White and EGWs position swaps seem like a reaction to having great depth at their defensive positions and looking for a shot in the arm at WR.
So It would be weird if he were "scared off" by those guys.

I was reading about EGW, and all of the defensive backs have been on Zach Smith all year to get EGW reps on offense because he was so dynamic with the ball in his hands, so I'm really excited for that.
