First I have a hard time thinking a B1G team would want 6 MAC players from the same team.

Can't fault MAC recruits for jumping at the chance to play in a power 5 conference. But it makes me wonder if Fleck is ready to handle B1G level recruiting and head to head in these kids homes.

It is a bit distasteful. W Mich gave him his first shot and to immediately turn on them is just rude. It's not like he he circled back after striking out

Damn... PJ Fleck just flipped 3 more Western Michigan players Sunday (for a total of 9 so far)... that is pretty cold towards the Broncos:
Nate Umlor, Allendale, Strong-Side Defensive End

Kyle Sassack, Notre Dame Preparatory School & Marist Academy, Offensive Tackle

Tyrone Chambers, Brush, Defensive Tackle


PJ Fleck added another commit Sunday, however it wasn't a flip, but rather a mid to high 3-star RB out of Maryland who was also offered by Iowa and Kentucky:
Mohamed Ibrahim, Good Counsel, Running Back


I understand PJ doesn't have much recruiting time in this cycle because he was just hired, and he needs to get commits pronto.... but to poach 9 guys less than a month prior to signing day from a single school that treated you very well over the previous 4 years is cold.

Well..... Western Michigan did trademark 'Row The Boat', so Minnesota is going to have to cough up $$$ in order to utilize the phrase (and per Fleck at his introductory news conference, he intends on using the phrase), so the Broncos will at least get some financial compensation.

Keep in mind that 5 of those 9 flips also received offers from other P5 schools, so those 5 particular kids who flipped weren't just stuck at settling for either the MAC or Minnesota.

Also keep in mind that Fleck doesn't have time to dilly-dally... signing day is fast approaching, and he needs recruits ASAP... especially due to 10 possible upcoming dismissals & suspensions from that sexual assault case.

So..... evaluating Fleck's level of recruiting in the B1G is not going to be relevant/realistic at this time. The guy was hired less than a month prior to signing day.... YIKES! However... NEXT year's recruiting is going to be a good indicator of Fleck recruiting prowess.

I will defer as I don't follow WMU recruiting. The Gophers should have had a class started by the previous regime that he should have tried to salvage. The Gophers were not Rutgers or Illinios. They have had some success.

I agree but it recruiting is a blood sport and the same thing that makes him laugh will make him cry later. Wait until he think he has a local kid locked up and a big name school comes in and poaches them.

I think if he limited himself to a couple of players this would not be a big deal but to take almost a third of a recruiting class looks awful.

When do the reevaluations come out? I just saw a report saying after the all-star games 2 Texans stood out as truly special players, Walker and Chaisson. I am not sure either of them were top 5 at this time last year
