Sparty loses on another recruit. Grats PSU fans!

James Franklin being able to swipe a 4-star from Pontiac, MI (transferred to IMG in Florida for his Senior year) is not a good sign for Sparty. Notre Dame and Ohio State have been good at poaching top recruits from Michigan, but if Penn State is able to start doing the same, then uh-oh for MSU.

Any 4-stars that MSU is able to recruit come from the B1G footprint states, as Sparty is not a big enough brand name to get 4 stars from other regions of the country. Mark Dantonio cannot afford to lose out on home state 4-star recruits such as Hamler.

His speed and nose for the football leads me to believe he'll see the field early on special teams, and I could see them bulking him up to play in the middle. We have a wealth of OLBs but so few true MLBs once McMillan leaves, so we could use him. And yes, I definitely think he'll be a fan favorite. I'm already a huge fan based on his highlight reel and smokin hot mom.

Urbs already went on record saying he is Kwon's replacement. He must be pretty special.

Evidently there are a couple of sources telling Jeremy Birmingham (OSU writer) that DPJ is 50/50 between OSU/FSU at this point. Not sure if I believe that, but our coaches braving a level 3 snowstorm to go visit the kid must mean something is happening.

Probably not, it sounds pretty unlikely that he would've eliminated michigan. That said, as I mentioned, the fact that we had coaches braving that horrible weather in Detroit makes me think it must've been worth it for whatever reason.

I'm doubting we land him in the end. With Mack and Victor coming in last year and Grimes and Lindsey coming in this year, he's better off going somewhere like michigan where he can make an impact immediately. Also, from what I'm hearing, we're actually picking up steam with Darnay Holmes and he and Okudah will have spots regardless. Same with Marvin Wilson, but I'm not so sure we get him. If we do, however, get Holmes and Okudah, this will be the best DB recruiting class in modern ranking history.

You guys are locked with Okudah. Holmes is being courted massively by UCLA and Nebraska, but I think it's trending to 50/50 Brasky OSU or 40/40/20 Brasky/OSU/UCLA. Wilson is getting some steam from OSU but I really think LSU and FSU are picking up some massive steam on him. I also can't rule out Herman showering him with gifts either. I think you guys still cap at 22 with the best average star rating and a top 2 lock recruiting class. Alabama probably only is number 1 due to raw numbers. Michigan will be at 3 or 4 due to number of 4 stars and 30ish recruits.

Finally I think Cam Akers goes to FSU or Ole Miss. Hugh Freeze seems to pay his recruits nicely down there. The sad thing is I think he would have legit committed to Michigan already, if the coaching staff wasn't so interested in a RB that already committed to Bama. Yeah he is a 50/50 flip possibility, but I think he ultimately chooses Bama in the end.
