Dum azz that is rugby. Also as previously stated football wasn't played on a basically national level until 1925.
Name me a major team who wasn't playing football by 1900.

looks like football to me:

Minus the fact you don't have refs giving high fives to OSU players.

In fact, many people argue we should go back to the era where little protection was worn because it was more authentic and guys were less likely to get laid out by a guy going 100% in pads.

Then you are mentally deficient...

Because it looks a lot more like this:

Than this:

You can go back to that era anytime you want, rugby is played all over the country, the Ivy League is even still competitive. Michigan opens the season against CMU on Sept 7th. at Mitchell Field...you're welcome.

Except, unlike rugby, leather helmets and cloth pads were used (Even then) and the rules were much different than rugby. And if you compare those HD NFL images to, say, something in the 1980's it even looks tragically old:

Here's Super Bowl Champ Bob Griese....

Even better name a G5 team that was playing in 1900.
Eastern Michigan started playing football in 1891. CMU 1896. Western Michigan 1906. Cinci 1885. UConn 1896. Tulane, 1893.

Should I go on?

Keep going until you name a G5. We will be waiting.

Those are all Group of 5 teams...unless you think the MAC is a P5 conference?
Uhh those designations were not used until 2006. So your previous statement about football in 1900 is invalid.

What the fuck are you talking about? I said name me a major team who wasn't playing football in 1900. You countered by saying a G5 team. I found you multiple, easily and quickly by searching the G5 conference closest to Michigan, then expanded to the AAC. What statement about 1900's football is incorrect? Teams were playing in difference conferences, but it was still football and most major teams, and probably more than half of the teams in the G5, were playing football in 1900.

And G5 teams probably had a better shot at a national title then than they do today.

Yeah...because you could pretty much just proclaim yourself a champion

expand...So what? Pretty much every P5 team was playing football at this time. P and G did not exist back then and to try and compare current college football to teams over a hundred years ago is a fools errand.

The other poster is right you just pull crap out of your azz. I am done with you I can feel myself getting stupider by the minute.

Not really. It was "major selectors" of the time. The AP and Coaches ended up becoming the norm, but it wasn't just proclaimed prior to that.

He never said that they were P5 though. He said pretty much every MAJOR team was playing football at that time. You are reaching.

Honestly, I don't even understand his argument. Is he suggesting that because the P5 didn't exist in it's current form and that the G5 didn't exist in it's current form, that 1900's games are irrelevant? And by that same logic wouldn't that make everything prior to conference realignment within the last 10 years irrelevant?

The majority of teams that exist now, existed in 1900 and had the same opportunity to play and win a championship as Michigan did. Which is why comparing "all time stats" isn't irrelevant because it's not like those teams couldn't have done the same but didn't.

Seriously. There was only two rating systems that go back into ancient times. One only gave Michigan one NC during the time you have claimed five. All were "awarded" after the fact.

In other words no one awarded National Titles back in those days. Football back then was basically a regional sport and as mentioned until 1926 Southern teams were ignored.

Five of your titles are less legit than the one UCF is claiming.

Opinions are like rear ends and from my point of view yours is full of crap. Anyone that would equate century different sporting events as equal would have to work to step up to the fucking idiot level.

If you are going to do that bow down to Harvard and Princeton.
