Sorry, four. I crossed lines on the grid and counted a win in another bowl as a Rose win.
You are always lying and exaggerating shit until called out.
It's a good thing the rest of us have google.
Sorry, four. I crossed lines on the grid and counted a win in another bowl as a Rose win.
And a Rose Bowl record that is basically worse than a team that has not played in the Bowl for 7 decades is not a stellar bragging point.I gave you my reason why I don't think they should be ranked that high. Not sure why you won't accept it. I'm going by the list in this thread. Not someone elses rankings. To me one outright national title in 7+ decades isn't good.
Edit: Miami has 2 Heismans, FSU has 3.
Florida has 3 Heismans, same as FSU.
And they got this:Tennessee is 11th.
FSU started football in 1954. In 65 years...
And I will probably catch flack for this, but they have sweet ass emblem, unis, flaming spear, and the tomahawk chop... simply put...
- 15 conference championships
- 46 Bowl appearances (28-16-2 record)
- Have been ranked #1 for 72 weeks. (For comparison, Michigan started in 1879 and has 34 weeks at #1).
- 3 National Titles (for comparison, Michigan has 1.5 since football actually started)
- 24 seasons with at least 10 wins.
- Went from 1987 to 2000 with at least 10 wins.
That at #10.
Does a mere strawberry plant supercede the mighty apple tree just because there are more berries than apples?!
Don't be fag dood! Even mentioning the great University of Florida in the same sentence as the girl's clown college and that private, Latin vo-tech in Miami is a GodDAMNED disgrace!
Don't worry, I'm sure if I worked it out to top 20 you would be above Washington.
Mmmkay. Did you actually go to Nebraska? If so, I'm surprised you can spell "Washington." In any case, I just checked the current Top 10 and feel comfortably superior in the present.
Yeah until the 24th.
amirite?!?!
I actually do think Florida will be beat Miami though, but FSU > Florida all time.
And Nebraska shouldn't have even been considered since it took a miracle play for them to go undefeated.LMAO!!! WTF?
Michigan didn't even play a Top 7 team to win that half of an NC. They played #8 Washington St.
If any of the NC's in the last 21 years were illegitimate, it would be Michigan's. It's not even close.
.
And Nebraska shouldn't have even been considered since it took a miracle play for them to go undefeated.
I think you could fraction off almost any national title prior to the BCS based on entities voting teams champions. In the last 21 years there have only been about 13 teams who can claim a national title. Michigan is one of them. And a top 10 win percentage in almost every decade in the last century.
You could argue that 25 years ago wasn't football. It changes. Major rules change. Equipment changes. Do you think an NFL team from the 80's would stand a chance against a current NFL team? No. Conditioning and athleticism has dramatically increased. Kids are stronger and faster now than they've ever been, hell even in the last 15 years. And at some point in the near future, rules to protect kids will go so severe that we're basically running 7 on 7 drills out there. And are they going to look back and say, "well 2019 wasn't real football", maybe. You have to look at the whole thing or sections of time in context. You could...
or you could just ignore the ones where football wasn't football...without pads or helmets and a different ball or for a fucking decade even coaches. For some, the beginning of the AP Poll in 1936 coincides pretty well with the start of the Heisman in '35 and the introduction of the plastic helmet in '39 as the beginning of the modern era. But for me 1950 is the beginning of what we would all recognize as football. 1950 is the elimination of linemen being eligible on pass plays and the universal use of plastic helmets. Anything before that is a sport only great grandpa would recognize as football.

looks like football to me:Whatever...watch a game from 1960, a game from 1980 and a game from today...still football. Watch a game from 1901...not football....rugby would be a million times closer. If you can't flip the channels and know the difference between football, rugby, Australian rules and soccer, then you might get confused about football 25 years ago. For the rest of us, there isn't much confusion.
Yes, a team from 1969 is going to get it's ass kicked by a team from 2019...but they are still fundamentally playing the same game. A team from 1888 and a team from 1988 wouldn't even know how to play each other's game.
LMAO. This is "football" being played in five of the eleven NC years you claim. @Wamu you gonna love this.11 national titles. 3rd all time. Most all time wins. Highest winning percentage. You are wrong.
So what? Pretty much every P5 team was playing football at this time and had the same opportunity to win those titles.LMAO. This is "football" being played in five of the eleven NC years you claim. @Wamu you gonna love this.
Yeah, because Michigan doesn’t have the refs in nearly every single game they play. Boo freakin hoo, the refs weren’t trying to put the game in the bag for you for once.looks like football to me:
Minus the fact you don't have refs giving high fives to OSU players.
In fact, many people argue we should go back to the era where little protection was worn because it was more authentic and guys were less likely to get laid out by a guy going 100% in pads.
Dum azz that is rugby. Also as previously stated football wasn't played on a basically national level until 1925.So what? Pretty much every P5 team was playing football at this time and had the same opportunity to win those titles.
The last few years it's been terrible, this is from late September last year:Yeah, because Michigan doesn’t have the refs in nearly every single game they play. Boo freakin hoo, the refs weren’t trying to put the game in the bag for you for once.
