It would be close for me in my lifetime. Honestly, I don't think ND or Michigan is top 10 in my lifetime(1986).
birthday year buddies!

I'm sure they are. The thing it's hard to really put together is how consistent both have been, even thought it may not seem that way. For instance, Michigan's lost 14 of the last 15 to OSU. You know what our record against OSU is since 1986? 13-19-1. Not quite as dramatic. I'm sure if you averaged out the last 33 years, both would probably be in the top 10 because while we've had down years more recently than some teams; a lot of the teams currently in that top 10 were hot garbage for a long time. For instance Clemson went from 1991 to 2010 without a 10 win season. People rag on me for not wanting Harbaugh fired for 10 win seasons, but it's exactly that kind of consistency that pays off in the long run.

That's fine. You could argue this list matters less to you than a list of the best teams in your lifetime (which would still probably include Michigan). But this is an all time list, which includes a lot of time.
It included a lot of time where teams were basically giving accolades to their groups while ignoring others. Claim all those horse and buggy era basically self awarded NCs if you want.

In my lifetime I see Michigan as basically a bridesmaid. In fact an interesting stat if you want all time. The Rose Bowl game has been for years the ultimate goal of the B10 champion. All TIME Michigan has one more win in the Rose Bowl than Alabama does. Alabama has not played in that game in over SEVENTY years.

I can understand why they aren't from an all-time list, but I'm weighting mine a little differently. Even in the AP poll era they belong top 10 IMO.

Just the simple fact that when Florida State and Miami U were in their prime, just the allure, no other programs top it. Their crazy rivalry from the past got me into college football really honestly.

...and what did you post about? OT recruiting shit about a kid who was solidly CB'd to Washington.

Your Honor, I rest my case.
TBH if I was a WR in this class I would have taken the OU offer for the the fact UW has a shitload of WR's atm and their passing game has been non existent other than 2016.

11 national titles. 3rd all time. Most all time wins. Highest winning percentage. You are wrong.

-9 national titles before 1920
-1 national title in 1948
-1/2 a title in 1997

Is that right?:noidea:

I think you could fraction off almost any national title prior to the BCS based on entities voting teams champions. In the last 21 years there have only been about 13 teams who can claim a national title. Michigan is one of them. And a top 10 win percentage in almost every decade in the last century.

That team of yours is entering year 71 without an outright national title. 7+ decades. Can you name a legit top tier all time program that's gone that long between titles? Because I can't think of any.

Alabama has 5 rose bowl wins. Michigan has 8 Rose Bowl wins. And speaking of pumping stuff up from the leather helmet days, 3 of those Bama wins were in the 20's and 30's. Only 1 since the 50's. Michigan has 5 Rose Bowl wins since the 80's.

By that standard, OSU has 1 single outright national title. The playoff title.

1954: UCLA and OSU split
1957: OSU and Auburn Split
1961: OSU and Alabama split
1968: OSU, Georgia and Texas split
1970: OSU, Nebraska and Texas split
2002: OSU and USC split

Voting is stupid. That's why it was replaced.

And Bama was excluded from playing in The Rose Bowl for like 80 years. That means with giving 80 more years of chances, Michigan has only 3 more wins than Bama.

You sure it's 5 Rose Bowl wins since the 80's? Looked up UofM's all time football record on sports-ref.com. Here's that it says.

1980- won
1982- lost
1986- lost
1988- won
1989- lost
1991- lost
1992- won
1997- won
2003- lost
2004- lost
2006- lost

So once again you're outright lying. Stop that. Haven't you figured out yet that any stat you mention can always be checked? And you're usually wrong. Just trying to overly pimp up your team as usual.

Sorry, four. I crossed lines on the grid and counted a win in another bowl as a Rose win.

Here's the thing though. I'm not trying to & have never pimped up Ohio State like you do w/ meeeechegan. I'm not trying to defend anything. You can't say the same.

I'm not pimping Michigan. I'm agreeing with a list someone else, who is not associated with Michigan, said about us. You're trying to undercut someone else's opinion of us. I'm pointing out the justifications for their ranking.

Not to get in the middle of a UM tOSU fight, but you do realize that the BCS era started in 1998? Your post read as if your last NC was in the BCS era. If that wasn't your intent, never mind.

Wasn't my intent. Just going back 21 years, instead of say 20 or 25 because Michigan won 21 years ago.It was certainly a manipulation of the data, going back 25 would have added more teams to the total of title winners.

RU Serious? I was not talking leather helmet days I was talking freaking horse and buggy days. Leather helmets were around to after WWII.

The modern Rose Bowl game started in 1923 in the now known Rose Bowl stadium and Alabama was a regular visitor until the last Southern team was invited in 1946 because they hit too hard. Alabama won the 1946 game. After that it was the Pac and Big. Michigan finally made it in 1948. So your statement of since the 50s is utterly inane.

Congratulations, I guess, on 5 Rose Bowl wins since the 80s. Alabama has 6 national championships since the 80s. But one last fact hasn't Michigan lost 7 Roses in that time?

Edit oops just found out only won 4 since the 80s. Damn dude.
