You sure it's 5 Rose Bowl wins since the 80's? Looked up UofM's all time football record on sports-ref.com. Here's that it says.

1980- won
1982- lost
1986- lost
1988- won
1989- lost
1991- lost
1992- won
1997- won
2003- lost
2004- lost
2006- lost

So once again you're outright lying. Stop that. Haven't you figured out yet that any stat you mention can always be checked? And you're usually wrong. Just trying to overly pimp up your team as usual.
The truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth - OOPS. I guess you have to play the cards dealt you but damn.

birthday year buddies!

I'm sure they are. The thing it's hard to really put together is how consistent both have been, even thought it may not seem that way. For instance, Michigan's lost 14 of the last 15 to OSU. You know what our record against OSU is since 1986? 13-19-1. Not quite as dramatic. I'm sure if you averaged out the last 33 years, both would probably be in the top 10 because while we've had down years more recently than some teams; a lot of the teams currently in that top 10 were hot garbage for a long time. For instance Clemson went from 1991 to 2010 without a 10 win season. People rag on me for not wanting Harbaugh fired for 10 win seasons, but it's exactly that kind of consistency that pays off in the long run.

It's close. I definitely don't think ND is. Off the top of my head these programs have won more championships in this time frame; Alabama, LSU, Florida, Clemson, Florida State, Miami, Ohio State, Nebraska. Then you have a program like OU who has one title, but I think has a much better resume. I'm not saying titles are everything, but they are important. Penn State is right there as well. Michigan would probably fall between 9-12 for me.

1. This list is dumb, click-bait meant to spark outrage.
2. I find it funny that we are on 8 pages now and it all primarily circles around Michigans spot being bullshit. Ha.

Here is a real all time list (as I have put on other threads)...

1. Bama
2. Ohio St
3. Oklahoma
4. Notre Dame
5. USC
6. Nebraska
7. Michigan
8. Texas
9. Penn St.
10. Florida St.

And I think Michigan and Texas are interchangeable in their positions, but lucky for Michigan, I will always vote against Texas lol.

Tennessee is 11th.

FSU started football in 1954. In 65 years...

  • 15 conference championships
  • 46 Bowl appearances (28-16-2 record)
  • Have been ranked #1 for 72 weeks. (For comparison, Michigan started in 1879 and has 34 weeks at #1).
  • 3 National Titles (for comparison, Michigan has 1.5 since football actually started)
  • 24 seasons with at least 10 wins.
  • Went from 1987 to 2000 with at least 10 wins.
And I will probably catch flack for this, but they have sweet ass emblem, unis, flaming spear, and the tomahawk chop... simply put...

That at #10.

Um... no, especially not when you consider the timeframe.
Both Miami and UF have a better track record in college football compared to FSU. That is a fact that can't be denied and/or argued. It is what it is.

How are you defining "track record"?

Florida started 1904, 108 seasons.
  • 9 conference championships
  • 44 bowls (23-21 record)
  • Only 15 seasons with 10+ wins.
  • 3 National Titles
  • Have been ranked #1 for 41 weeks.
  • 3 Heismans (FSU has 3)

Miami started in 1936, 83 seasons
  • 9 conference championships
  • 39 bowls (19-20 record)
  • Only 15 seasons with 10+ wins.
  • 5 National Titles
  • Have been ranked #1 for 68 weeks.
  • 2 Heismans (same as FSU)

Both schools have a longer tenure than FSU, but FSU has performed better.

I'm not pimping Michigan. I'm agreeing with a list someone else, who is not associated with Michigan, said about us. You're trying to undercut someone else's opinion of us. I'm pointing out the justifications for their ranking.

I gave you my reason why I don't think they should be ranked that high. Not sure why you won't accept it. I'm going by the list in this thread. Not someone elses rankings. To me one outright national title in 7+ decades isn't good.

I think you could fraction off almost any national title prior to the BCS based on entities voting teams champions. In the last 21 years there have only been about 13 teams who can claim a national title. Michigan is one of them. And a top 10 win percentage in almost every decade in the last century.

LMAO!!! WTF?

Michigan didn't even play a Top 7 team to win that half of an NC. They played #8 Washington St.

If any of the NC's in the last 21 years were illegitimate, it would be Michigan's. It's not even close.
