I have to say, this is one of the unluckiest fucking teams I have ever laid eyes on. That is reason enough to be optimistic in the long run, if anything, because luck will eventually change.

That said, we probably need to win about 12 of our last 15 games to get in or something absurd.

Either that or have the Islanders, Leafs and Lightning all completely choke.

So fucking painful.

On a side note, we must have statistically the worst 5 on 3 power play in the Nhl. I'm of the opinion that it should be an automatic goal, so I have no idea what the fucking problem is.

That was tough but in reality I believe that they are close. In the long run one more high pick may help although I would still love for them to get in. They played the caps close for instance but consistent defence and goaltending kills them.

Meh, we are not done yet, I don't think we could stand to lose more than 1 more game to have a shot, and with that said I don't see us getting in. I would like to see some youth get a few call ups to get some NHL time, I hope we can add some grit to this team on the forward side too.

As of now I'm def gonna agree with you, that is something they need to fix badly in the off season, crazy part is the amount of talent we have and we still can't get it done.

Couple of things.. the loss to Boston plus the rest of the games this weekend has the Flyers down to a 0.9% chance of making the playoffs. I'd say they're toast.

The 5 on 3 PP is a joke. They take Schenn out from the slot, move him to the corner on Jake's side, move Simmonds next to the net on Giroux's side, and play perimeter hockey. They didn't even come close to attacking the net. Not going to score passing in a circle around the outside with no traffic in front. A team with good shooters maybe can do that, but the Flyers can't score from outside to save their lives. Every goal they score is a greasy one right in front, who do they think they are with that set up?

I'm actually OK with not calling anyone up, and I don't think they will. Hextall is preaching growing a winning culture with the Phantoms and bringing that up to the Flyers. I think they'll keep the team intact, maybe add Lindblom and Vorobyov on a tryout contract and take a run at the Calder Cup. Maybe they can even add Myers on an ATO if his season finishes up fairly quickly.

Nah, I am as optimistic as anyone about this team. We deserved a far better fate in the last two games. Could've easily won them both. These were one goal games on the road against teams just ahead of us.

I'm not quite sure how, but our power play is still 10th overall at 20.5%. We get the 3rd most opportunities overall. The latest numbers are 1 for the last 18 this month though. That's 5.5%. Terrible.

We are 10th but are .3 from being 14th. When PP is all the scoring you are capable of 10th - 14th isn't good enough. Im talking to you Gee Schenn Simmer and Ghost and Jake. Oh and Hexy
