I watched an interview a couple of weeks ago with Bellemare and VandeVelde.....
One question summed up those two and should apply to this whole team.....

They asked why the two of them have been paired up for so long......
Because they know what each other is going to do, they know where each other will be and it makes them very effective together.....

Let's face it, neither of them are "great" players, but the two of them together make a damn good team. Something this entire team needs to learn about one another!!!!

Another example was early in the year when we did all those 3 on 3 in OT..... Giroux, Ghost, and Voracek....those 3 were deadly as a unit.....something this entire team needs to learn!!!!

Well, NJ, Detroit, Buffalo and Carolina appear to be done. Florida fortunately lost to Minnesota last night. This leaves five teams (us included) competing for the final wild card spot. It's going to be a serious challenge with three of those teams ahead of us as it stands. If we can beat Boston today, that lessens the loss at Toronto significantly.

Mase will be in net this afternoon. There's a shocker.

Enormous game. A regulation win here puts Boston at the mercy of Toronto and then potentially us. They should be a desperate team as well. A loss puts them in jeopardy of missing the playoffs entirely. I hope we are flying around the ice a little faster for this one and that the penalty kill finally gets a few stops.

If those things happen, I really like our chances. Boston lit us up the last time out, but we can get a huge measure of revenge if we stick to our game.

Gudas destroys Vatrano. This second period is essentially how we need to play moving forward. Dominating them, really, just not getting rewarded entirely for it yet.

We need to come out in the third period and really stick it to them, just like we did at the start of the second.

I hate to say it because I never give up, but we may have to wave goodbye to any shot of the playoffs after that shocker with under 6 seconds left of a game we probably deserved to win in regulation...

Deserved two points and got none when we had at least one in the bank. It's quite possibly too crushing of a blow at this stage of the season.
