This is a challenge, but we can definitely beat the Hawks in this one. They are struggling as of late and starting their backup goalie tonight, who is a drop off from Crawford for sure. I just hope we're not looking past this game to the huge one we have looming on Saturday.

The basic premise for an expansion draft would see teams risk losing one player under a one-team expansion and two players under a two-team scenario. The rules for protection of players, however, would be tighter than the last round of expansion in 2000.

The Pens need to avoid doing what the Wings did or they are in serious trouble. And by that I mean lose to a "cupcake" team right before running headlong into the locomotive that is us.

Let's be honest. We completely embarrassed Detroit in the 1st period of that game. Yes, it got close, but they were extremely lucky that it wasn't 4-0 and virtually out of reach.

Mrazek is carrying that team right now and many others are slumping. I mean, Zetterberg is leading them in points with 43...in 70 games. How terrible is that for the leading scorer on a team that makes the playoffs every single year?

I cant believe Anaheim lost to the Rags last night. They were in sleep mode not moving and not hitting which is their whole game.
But I wont let that damper how good it was to see our boys play a good game in the second night of a back to back against a solid team and come out victorious. I don't care that they lost 4 in a row they played like they were the cup champs last night and we still beat them.

Yes, the second goal by Schenn from Giroux was completely absurd. That is fucking Duncan Keith that G is passing around and he made it look easy. Schenn made the shot look equally gorgeous and I love how the puck buried itself in the back of the net.

I can't help but wonder how many goals Ghost would have right now had he not only played the entire season, but had a little more puck luck. He clanked iron twice last night without a goal, but still has 4 in his last 5 games. He may otherwise be giving Burns a run for his money in total goals by a defenseman this season and I believe Leetch also in all-time goals by a rookie defenseman.

Yes, he is much-improved, but so is Streit. Once that guy got truly 100% healthy, we absolutely took off...and I don't think that is a coincidence. He is logging giant minutes right now. 23, 24 and 25 a game...easy.

And this may sound weird, but I think we're better with Manning (or MacDonald) than with Medvedev. It's probably why he's riding the bench.

Schenn at 4-4.5 for 4 years is a steal imo based on today's market value. Hell, we are paying umberger 4.5 and he isn't worth putting on the ice.
