One of the most dynamic players in the league IMO. On defense I'd struggle to pick anyone better.

I thought about OV. Picked Benn because he's 4 years younger.

OV is probably my favorite non-Flyer though. I love the way he plays the game.

Yeah, really enjoy the intensity and emotion that OV plays with. He is a moose with speed and killer shot. The Flyers need scoring and given the parameters of this exercise, there is none better in the league.

ah, good point, i should have clarified. any player that's been drafted to this point. regardless of contract situation with their current team. flyers just get to take someone off another team.

Probably Johnny Gaudreau because he was tied for 6th in league scoring on a bad team and he's only 22 years old, plus we're stacked with high end defensive prospects that are around the same age.

Imagine him and G on the same line with either Voracek or Simmonds for 6+ years.

I just don't see it happening. Pittsburgh completely dominated that game last night and were very unfortunate to lose. Martin Jones had an extremely shaky start, then he bounced back to be the hero. I can't see him doing it twice more.

Umberger not on waivers today. He won't be bought out tomorrow. Buyout window ends June 30th.

I kind of expect Hextall to wait until after the draft to buy him out. Having him on the roster til after the draft doesn't really do anything to harm you, and who knows, maybe someone will get drunk at the draft and take Umberger in a trade?

I would do a 2k thread then. 5k doesn't seem realistic with competing game threads.

I hate to say it, but my Nhl Bracket Challenge was 4th best of 28 on the main board and in the 97th percentile overall. I did not expect San Jose to beat L.A. though, let alone make the Finals. Joe Thornton had his best playoff performance ever at nearly 37 years old. Who the hell saw that coming!?!

Also, I think we can and will get 5K posts in a new thread. There will be a lot more excitement about this team entering next season and rightfully so. No reason why we shouldn't be better.

If Couturier doesn't get hurt in game one, I think we had a legit shot at taking out the Caps in round one. That really speaks to how strong this team got over the last few months of the season.
