Cap is an issue at the moment, however in the off-season Streit will most likely be moved and Umberger is a prime buyout candidate. That clears 7 million. As for the list:If there is no cap room for him then we are really just dealing with hypotheticals. If that's the case I would love to have any of the other 12 LW's ranked ahead of him and probably 2 or 3 ranked behind him

That's not so bad last year at this time I think we were around the 13% mark. I also don't think it has taken into account that we lost dead weight in Umberger and brought up a solid two way player in Cousins.Playoff Probabilities Report | Hockey-Reference.com
We are projected at 90 points and playoffs projected at 95. Has us at 36.5% playoff probability.
Jake needs to heal quickly. Next game v. Pens is March 19.Pittsburgh loses their game in hand on us to the Caps. It remains a three point gap, but we both have 20 games remaining, 3 of them against each other. This should be some kind of battle moving forward. Those three games will be almost like a mini playoff series.
Supposedly he was going to be out only 2 weeks and that time frame fits him in getting back before the 19th. Hopefully that is the case.Jake needs to heal quickly. Next game v. Pens is March 19.
I was looking at next years cap and see that Gudas is an RFA next year and not an UFA. I would think he will be back.
Up through about the end of January i would agree with you wholeheartedly. He's been very mediocre or even bad on most nights since then.
I am in total agreement with this. He has played extremely well for us at times. When he's not out there head hunting he is a half decent player. On the penalty kill he has gotten the puck either out of the zone on down the ice more than any defenseman. He also blocks shots and gets off shots in the offensive zone. Oh yeah and he can also hit a little.I don't mind Gudas right now. The dude can obviously crush people, but he also can skate and move the puck at times. He has three assists in his last five games. Besides, I am more than certain that he gets under the skin of the opposition and that's a good thing as long as he doesn't cross that thin line. In my opinion, he gets targeted by the refs however and that makes his job even more difficult.
