I don't Hexy will have a young guy up if he isn't solidly in the top 6. He would rather have them get big minutes AHL v little minutes NHL.

Yep. Agreed. I think Provorov makes the team, but I think Morin spends another year with the Phantoms. From what i've read, it doesn't seem like he's quite ready for a defensive/shut down role in the NHL yet.

I can see a similar situation to ghost. Morin starts in AHL and gets a shot when someone gets tweaked. This year Strreit and MDZ missed significant time.

Minor pieces, yes. We're performing pretty damn well right now without Giroux, who is without question our leader/captain and top scorer. Bring him back and if our top 7 or 8 players stay healthy, I think we will make the playoffs.

Three games left with Pittsburgh and that looks like the team we could catch right now, so get your popcorn ready for those games. We have beaten them often over the last few seasons and we can do it again.

My first thought is that they got him really cheap, but the truth is they are only using him as a 4 or 5, so why pay him more for doing less? He is only getting 16:39 per game. That's pretty low for a defenseman.

I believe we can get 32. I also think we will win the next three games. These are arguably the three coldest teams in the Nhl right now and we have zero time to overlook anyone, so I feel that we'll come ready to get the two points regardless of the team we're playing.

With everyone back we can play with anyone in the league. I believe the team has finally figured out the coaches system and all players are in the positions they play best.

Well, the only time that we failed to get points in the last five games, it looked like our strongest performance of the entire season. So, I'm feeling good about our chances moving forward and I'm also thinking Couturier could be more valuable to the success of the team than Giroux. That said, we want Giroux back so we can start lighting people up again and not have to grind out so many wins.

They say the mark of a good team is your record in one goal games. Well, after last night, we have 14 wins and 11 losses in one goal games that were not decided in a shootout. Some of those losses were in OT, but I went with wins/losses only. Not too bad. Keep that the same or better and we climb in the standings.

Carolina and NJ both lose again for the second straight night. Their playoff hopes are fading fast as we're only 1 and 2 points back with now a full 3 games in hand. It's starting to look like Pittsburgh is our only remaining obstacle here.

Wow, I guess Carolina has thrown in the towel. They trade Eric Staal to the Rangers for two 2nd's and a prospect. I would not have expected that in the same division.

The Islanders lose to the Oilers too, which honestly keeps that third spot in the division open. We have two games remaining with them as well, so anything is possible here.

We have at least two games each remaining against the Penguins, Islanders and Red Wings. Those are the three closest teams that we could possibly pass to get in. So, get healthy and make a run at this. We really don't need anyone to slide. We just need to continue to beat the bad teams and then these upcoming games will probably decide it.
