Does anyone know why on the 2nd PP unit Coots sets up on the same side that Gee does. Gee being a righty is facing the net for a shot or pass to the middle. Coots I would think should set up on the other side where it would be easier for him to shoot. Does anyone know why we do this?

Amazingly, we sit 3 points out of a wild card spot and 6 points (with a game in hand) out of a top three seed in the Metro division. The Rangers, Islanders and Devils are all falling back to us and the Pens are really in trouble.

I hate to say it, but our high amount of OT losses (and wins) is starting to become a good thing for us because we suddenly have fewer regulation losses than some of these teams.

A win on Monday would put us in a really nice spot entering a long Christmas break. All teams are off for 3 days, but we're off for 5.

I also think Jake is locked and loaded right now. With 6 points in his last 4 games (including 2 huge goals), he no longer has to worry about when his next goal is going to come. He can just go out there and dominate and it showed last night. I bet he is back for good.

Friggin Lions rank ass defense cost me a fantasy playoff win last night - my opponent had Ben Watson and scored a TD late in the game and I lost by two

Not starting Danny Woodhead might haunt me too - I didn't expect 30 points from him, even against a struggling team - but the Chargers were bad for the previous few weeks so I went ahead and benched him - nice job

If we can manage to win our game in hand, we are only one point out of a tie for a wild card spot. I become more and more convinced that we're a playoff team (as currently constructed) with each passing day.

What's really amazing is that after the quick start from Montreal and slow start from us, we're suddenly only 6 points back of them with 2 games in hand. At this rate, they may go from running away with the top overall seed to missing the playoffs entirely.

Unfortunately, this remains a team that is wildly inconsistent. The positive of that is we can beat anyone, but the negative is very frustrating to sit through.

I like our chances in a long playoff series, but for one game, we don't always reach that level of energy and focus that we're accustomed to.
