At least when the Spurs were dominating it still could have been the lakers who got in. It wasn't a for sure deal that San Antonio was getting into the Finals. The Bulls owning the 90s at least had viable storyline opponents that may have kept them from repeating.

Never before has it just been two teams guaranteed like this year.

They do have no chance. Each passing year the window for the Spurs closes more and more.

Hell next year LeBron will somehow get another all-star to help him out more and the Warriors will probably get another star. Eventually the All-star game will just be a preview of the Finals.

The Spurs have 2 player on their roster that are over 35, Ginobili & Gasol. They have 9 players under the age of 30. So S.A. isn't a bunch of 40 year olds like you're claiming.
