Koy Detmer getting injured on MNF Nov 25, 2002 is really one of the NFL's biggest what if moments

Didn't Shawn Barber have his car broken into and the Eagles' playbook was stolen during training camp that year? Skins fans on KFFL thought it was funny as hell.

yep....52% comp. with 10 career TD's and 14 INT's is basically a nobody

Eagle Board ------------------------------------------------------------------------------>

He should be in the Hall of Fame as a holder. Never botched a snap and is the only holder in the history of the game that I saw a team heading into the playoffs cut a player just to make space to re-sign a holder like I saw the Eagles do with Koy in 2006. Then he went onto hold the game tying and winning field goals in the first playoff game.

But special teams specialists don't get the respect they deserve. The unsung heros of the the game. So that wasn't just some nobody having the most improbable dominant performance when his contending team needed it, it was the greatest holder the game has seen having that performance as QB. That is why everyone went out to the cart like they did from both teams. Everyone one of those players knew how great Koy was as holder. Anytime I would go to games I always noticed that before games and the 2nd half he was always out there warming up, but never warming up throwing the ball as a QB. Always warming up catching the snap from the long snapper and holding for Akers practice kicks. You never see that. It's just kickers kicking off of tees to warm up. That was greatness at work. The players noticed that. That was the MJ of holding kicks and he tore it up on MNF against a playoff team in a rare chance at QB and then got devastatingly injured.

LOL....hell kid, Jason Garrett had better numbers as a QB and he never botched a snap as a holder neither....and guess what, the team liked him too.

HOF as a holder is a reach, but pretty par for the football knowledge you've displayed here on the hoop.

So with no sports we are reduced to creating tribute threads for shitty quarterbacks?

Unbelievable how great of talent he was and how little we got to see of him. But he was special and needs to be in the Hall of Fame for his special teams play as a holder at the very least. The best holder ever.
