So now we have an article combining Evan Grant's hard-hitting in-depth reporting that the Rangers could possibly extend Martin Perez with Perez' own quote from weeks ago where he would (obviously) like to stick around.

Sources are telling me that water is also wet.

I asked Evan of he thought the Rangers would be interested in trading for a Competitive Balance pick. Here is his response.

"So, I asked about this but even trying to explain it is a bit challenging. But bottom line: Rangers couldn't trade for a Comp. A pick because of their free agent signings. Best they could do would be a Comp B pick, which would be after second round. I believe to do that, it would net them an additional pick around No. 75. I think they've looked at this, but it didn't sound like something they'd really believed would be a significant net value for the cost."

Oh nice to know.
Didn’t realize a comp A pick was out of reach.
Probably not getting the Hispanic Titanic

Well perhaps the post is just to stimulate discussion as opposed to heap praise upon EG, one of the current whipping posts

The thought that came into my mind is yes I woood like to extend but his value may be as high as you ever get and he could see.
So if we dont trade then we could wait until later in the season to se how he does then give him a pitch per se

I think we could get him with the Comp Bal. B round pick. Based on what the Braves gave up for a round higher it would be worth it to me. It could also help alleviate the Rule 5 situation in a few months.

Some guy relied to me on Twitter about Termarr Johnson. He says Termarr will be another Willie Calhoun. He described Termarr like this:

"short, slow, left handed hitter with plus hit tool who can’t play any position long term but doesn’t have the power to be a DH."

Lol

If Jones and Holiday are gone, I would go with Lee or Collier if that’s true.

Minnesota may be interested in Matt Moore and maybe a decent prospect and then another somewhat prospect? Like AJ Alexy and Thomas Saggesse?

You don’t like the size of Johnson?

Saw where some give him a Joe Morgan comp

Just opinions. Same as ours.
Well, not exactly. Without those, and others like them, we would have no opinions because we would have no knowledge of any of the draft prospects.
