100%, he's one of my all time Kings greats and as you guys know I pull for the jersey not a specific player. I dont have a #32 Kings jersey but plan on getting one. Almost none of my Kings jerseys have names on them.

But I can't wait to see him get 400, he will always be a King to me no matter what jersey he wears. Those two Cup wins don't happen without him especially 2012.
Yeah I mean it's not secret that Quick is my favorite player ever and it's not even close. Just his fight and athleticism. Always gave the Kings a chance to win. I think it's Game 1 2012 in Vancouver the announcers are like "Quick gas given up 1 goal or less in 40 of the Kings games". And there they are sitting at the 8 seed. People forget how little the Kings scored back in the day. Obviously then things changed at the trade deadline and the Kings just steamrolled everybody. Quick in that sweep to Vegas gave up like 5 goals in 4 games and two of those were in OT. Anyway. Glad he got that little freebie cup in Vegas, even though I hate Vegas. Hard not to root for him and Martinez getting their 3rd cups.

Rangers really do look bad. But Kings did their thing and there were some truly nice goals in there. Kings hottest team in hockey, but they're definitely getting some bounces too. Outshot a lot at times and there's a lot of shots that beat Kuemper but don't quite go in. Need some of that luck to have hot streaks like that though. Turcotte/Kempe chemistry something to watch? Guys like Turcotte with that top 5 pedigree you just hope maybe it was just injuries holding him back. And you just cannot be surprised at the Kings development of guys seemingly taking like 5-7 years. Really insane, and no other team does that. Kempe was a non factor until he was damn near 25. Like I remember just writing him as probably just a 3rd like guy, and he'd been around years. Now he's part of the 40 goal club. And his contract is a steal. Dude will be getting paid next contract.

I haven't heard much on Doughty but originally they thought maybe December. I assume Kings winning means zero rush to force him back.

Even all of Cantplays non factor seasons are pretty much better than Busters breakout and Adrian didnt get the opportunity like Buster.....plus he was a 29th pick and well out of that t5-10 that I want immediate dividends or you trade down and get that same player later and get more assets for your earlier pick. Waiting for Buster to develope once Kopistar and DD8 are to old and Cantplay is making bank and Fiala has lost a step and not as agile is just insane if your wanting to win. Either the Kings need to fire the scouting or the development because someone is way off

It's been pretty silent on the Doughty front except he's out of a boot and walking around. Initially the prognosis was late December but agreed, no rush with the Kings doing pretty well right now.

Of course we all know that can change in an instant with this team so who knows, he may be forced to return sooner than later. Just having him back however will be like getting a TDL acquisition and a high end one at that.

Contract and age or not he is still a bonafide D1.

Tons of chatter linking Kings to certain players for a trade. I have to assume they have money from Doughty's LTIR and Blake probably looking to bolster (keep) his job. I guess there's a Xmas/Holiday roster freeze, so teams like NYR that are struggling are rumored to want to get something done this week. Not same rush for LA, but it was interesting to hear about the holiday roster freeze. Kings I guess looking to add a Top 9 forward who is more offensive, and preferably a right handed. At least that's what I read.

They do need someone else to score and since the Kings are somehow still balls deep in this thing, I dont mind him making a move....im skeptical it will be the right one and one that doesnt set the Kings back for a few seasons....but he does need to go for it as much as it pains me to say.

I don't think this is a good time for a trade. Kings are playing well but also not a legit contender IMO. They aren't built for PO hockey but Bowlby will overpay and move the 1st or something.

Dude is like clockwork on overpayments.

100%, do not disagree, unless a GM has a clear and set path/vision he shouldnt deviate. If your a Blowme and throwing whatever at the wall to see what sticks your almost obligated to make a trade or 2 to appease the fans. While many of us can see this team for what it is, he will worry about the looks of right now vs carring about a future he might not be a part of....

I am not sure if it was on this board but I had read where someone mentioned the possibility of trading Doughty. What are the thoughts on this?
Doughty said that he wants to play for a contender and that just doesnt seem like the Kings are a contender. If we were able to trade him (not sure for who or what) and free up some of that $11m plus with Provorov coming off the books, we would free up somewhere in the ballpark of $13m.

I am not saying the Kings should do this but just something to think about.

Maybe discussed before, but for sure it was me venting about the entire state of the team following that SJ game where they gave up 5 goals in the 3rd to lose 7-2. Just felt like team had no direction and no heart. I almost feel like they read the comments and decided to just tear up the league since then. If they were still middling, I said I would honestly go to Doughty and Kopitar and ask them if they wanted to make a real run at the cup with another team. I don't really know what this team is still, but they keep winning, so I can't really say anything. Lines seems balanced. Solid enough goaltending (not a liability at least). My thinking was if this team is like outside of playoffs looking in, see about moving the two older guys for some draft capital and not have this team go the San Jose or Anaheim route for 5-7 years.
