Mark April 25th on your calendars as the Flames play the St. Louis Blues that evening. If St. Louis is still battling for a playoff spot, I expect the Flames to lie down faster than Lindsay Lohan in order to secure that 1st round draft pick.

Jagr has been told he WILL be traded before the deadline. *vomits* Can you stay in the West Jags? Rumored teams: Boston, Philly, Montreal. No, no, and no. Philly overpaying would be funny though...

I would like to thank Greg Sherman once again for matching Jay Feaster's clumsy offer sheet. Currently, 3 1st round picks and approximately $14 million in cap space cleared by Feaster, I still don't think he's a good GM, but at least he's moving in the right direction.

at this point in the standings, had Colorado not matched,
they would be in line for 2 of Jones, MacKinnon & Druin.

pretty immediate restock right there.

If I was a betting man, I'd put it on Boston. It's like Czech central up there anyway.

Didn't Philly let him walk because he wanted too much? Now they'd have to trade for his salary anyway?

Jagr to the Pens. Come on Shero. You need to show up your last move ;)

Progression:
Morrow/Murray trades: Awesome! Those are solid moves, I like it.
Iginla: AHHHH! WHAT? I didn't see that coming! That's awesome!
Jagr: *dies*

I just...I still love him.

And since he had to clear waivers, couldn't they have had ROR too? Or would they have been forbidden to claim him?

I think they're keeping Joe Sacco around to ensure they don't pass the Flames...

And they have absolutely no cap space. Sooo, not sure how that'd work. Because, as I understand it, cap space is calculated based on daily spending, not yearly. So, seeing as some of their guys haven't been on LTIR, I don't know how they'd afford it w/o a big contract moving. I could be way off. Also, we've been over the lament of their farm system...I'd think the first would be more important to them.

Calling this:

Jagr will cost more than Iggy. Niewendyk needs to buckle down for his team and make another good trade (that's right, another...I think the Morrow deal was good for them). The ball is completely in his court with this one. No case of "need to move him because of the Cup" and no movement issues.

they have about 15 people they can put on LTIR, so space is actually available.
right now I think they have only got 3 guys listed on LTIR

So, if done retroactively they can make the move? That's where I get confused...because I read an article that shows that the cap is based on daily spending, not just the yearly hit. If they don't put the guy on LTIR, then his money is spent, can't be used again.

Wings in on Jagr too. Rumors that the price is pretty high though.

Would Kipper be a good fit in Carolina? Don't look now, but the Hurricanes could still get a 3 seed (only three points back of Winnipeg with three games in hand). They need a goalie with Ward on the shelf.

LUONGO. i would be so happy if Kipper went to Carolina, and Leafs stayed status quo and Reimer pulled a Cloutier in toronto and went out 4 straight with a 3.85GAA and a .870sv%

Pulling hard for DET to get him. He fits the old man Detroit bill :P (And I could stomach him going there)

you can only use LTIR space if you are up against the cap anyways, so there is no point in putting someone on there to save a couple of bucks space until you have a use for it.
I have certainly seen people put on LTIR retroactively, but don't know what rules surround that practice.

Would dallas take BOS offer for Iggy minus 1st rounder-C Khokhlachev and D Bartkowski for Jagr?
