McDaniel mock draft projects hitter for Texas

With the 2020 MLB Draft starting later today, Kiley McDaniel has his final mock draft out this morning, and projects the Rangers to take UNC first baseman Aaron Sabato at #14.

So if you are keeping track at home, that is three major prognostications projecting Sabato to the Rangers, as Keith Law and Baseball America bothhave him going to Texas in their final mocks. Jim Callis and Jonathan Mayo, meanwhile, have Texas selecting Patrick Bailey out of North Carolina in their final mock drafts, with Mayo projecting our old friend Thad Levine and the Minnesota Twinsto take Sabato at #27 and Callis projecting Sabato to not go in the top 29 picks.

He’s a power-hitting second baseman who gets the job done defensively and shouldn’t need a ton of time in the Minors.

I think it’s the rangers organization finally admitting to themselves that Odor is not the long term answer at second base.

fans have been begging for corrective action to be taken against that little shit and until now, all we have seen is the organization prop him and protect him like he’s some kind chosen one.

I know people will say that the team stunk last year and it didn’t matter anyway, but I think players at the highest level should at least be held accountable and earn their playing time. Enabling people never leads to a good outcome.
