Series Preview From Medium.com
SWEEEEEP (Again)! Your Texas Rangers are red hot and have won six consecutive games for the first time this season! Remember when we wrote about how big of a homestand this was? Well, a 6–0 start with the Dodgers on deck is pretty, pretty good (insert Larry David gif) ;)

Despite the squad improving to 58–39 following the sweep against Tampa Bay, there’s more work to do. The Los Angeles Dodgers, owners of the second-best record in the National League, visit Globe Life Field for a three-game weekend series. Before we take a look at what’s going on, let’s visit the probables…

Friday: LHP Andrew Heaney (6–6, 4.43) vs. RHP Tony Gonsolin (5–3, 3.72)

Saturday: RHP Dane Dunning (8–2, 2.82) vs. RHP Bobby Miller (5–1, 4.25)

Sunday: LHP Martín Pérez (7–3, 4.84) vs. RHP Emmet Sheehan (3–0, 4.91)

Kennedy Landry's proposal:

Rangers get: Shohei Ohtani

Angels get: INF/OF Ezequiel Duran, RHP Owen White (Rangers No. 2 prospect, No. 44 overall), INF Luisangel Acuña (Rangers No. 3 prospect, No. 45 overall), RHP Jack Leiter (Rangers No. 5 prospect, No. 89 overall), INF Justin Foscue (Rangers No. 7 prospect), OF Dustin Harris (Rangers No. 8 prospect)

I don't think so Kennedi.

Let's play devil's advocate. What if the Rangers removed Dustin Harris, and the Angels added Matt Moore?

I get an Ohtani move can put you over the top
But that is lot of future especially to a rival just to try to catch lightning in a bottle
Plus don’t be so sure he will get a lot of starts and even so he is pitching every 6th day

That would have a big chance of being the worst trade in franchise history if Ohtani walked in free agency. Trading a .300 MLB hitter, an IF with huge potential in Acuña, two potential frontline SPs, another really good IF in Foscue and a solid OF prospect in Harris?
Hard NO.

Hard NO.

Foscue is probably going somewhere else, if I was putting money on things.

Most entertaining trade deadline ever, IMHO. A player doing things that no one alive has ever seen, on a team that's just outside the bubble in a postseason race with the third WC slot now a thing.

Plus, all the other sought after players out there and the other teams trying to decide whether to sell or buy, plus the contenders who need upgrades.

Absolute chaos.

I view every trade without regard to being able to sign the guy after we trade for them. That is so uncertain that it is a non-factor. Any player we trade for is for the length of his contract, to me.

Which is why any deal for Ohtani should be a hard pass. The package necessary to get him would make the Juan Soto trade look like peanuts.

If at all possible, I would like to see Foscue be given a chance to be our DH in 2024.

I would put Huff into the equation as well, but I realize he is not wanted here by the front office and will be gone soon. He will have to do well elsewhere.

Crim probably deserves a chance, but he gets no respect, industry wide.

And there is always injury as we have expierenced with deGrom. Too much at risk. Let the Angels keep him.
