We may have pitching and not be aware of it. A few RBI can prove a lot. Many times this year we lost by a run or two when a base hit could have made a losing pitcher a winner. This year may prove what kind of pitching we really have.
I went back and counted and there were 33 games they lost by 2 runs or less in 2021 and maybe another 6-8 by 3 runs...

Thank you for this. Kinda supports the kind of pitching we had. Not that bad if a little offence had been present. I'm encouraged going forward.

We do for sure. Just pointing out two things.
1. We need hitting that we did not have.
2. Pitching may have been better had we had some hitting.

i think we have started answering #1 with Semien and Seager but we still need at least 1 more hitter/OF'er.

i alos agree with #2 for last year but the Rangers FO decide to go with Holt, Culberson and David Dahl. which left us powerless

We have a good start now with the rebuild and expect more to come 2022. 2023 will be contention. Bye the way, Merry Christmas.

we have had a great start with Seager, Semien, K. Calhoun and J. Gray. with that alone i can see12-15 wins than last season, what would Suzuki and Kershaw add?

Reds are looking to trade Sonny Gray and/or Tyler Mahle and/or Luis Castillo, what would you offer for 1 or 2 of them?
Mahle is the youngest of that group at 27 years old. He led Reds starters with 210 strikeouts and ranked second with a 3.75 ERA. Castillo tied for the MLB lead with 33 starts and posted a 3.98 ERA in 187.2 innings.

Gray posted his highest ERA (4.19) since 2018, but he averaged more than 10 strikeouts per nine innings for the third consecutive season.

The Rangers' moves suggest a strong desire to improve after finishing last in the American League West with a 60-102 record. Adding more help to their starting rotation would go a long way toward making them competitive in a loaded division with the Houston Astros, Seattle Mariners, Los Angeles Angels and Oakland Athletics.

Hope Jung gets a chance this next year. Looking outside the box, I have wondered if Lowe might step it up with all these other guys surrounding him. Just a thought. Hope to see our catcher problem solved before 2023.

i'm hoping for that on both Jung and Lowe actually i'm counting on both. 2023 should see Huff starting catcher.

we should trade LKF for the best deal we can get even if it's with the Yankees. sign Suzuki. insert Jung at 3rd and him batting 8th until he's comfortable hitting MLB pitching.

i envision us opening the season with this batting order:

Taveras
Semien
Seager
Garcia
Lowe
Suzuki
K. Calhoun
Jung
Trevino

By that count there is 60+ games by 4runs or more.
My limited pitching enthusiasm is because we are counting on our tip 3 pitchers to be Gray, Dunning and Hearn afterwards you have likely Otto, Alexy, Allard and Burke. Pretty shaky and unproven
Maybe King surprises. Howard is likely in the minors. We have our best relievers still injured starting off the year

If we get to 500 ball that will be huge progress.

So i am hopeful our offense will be much better, Pitching is a year away from us being dangerous

Can't get much worse they were 28th in runs scored, #1 team scored almost 240 runs more...
Emphasis…. much. … better is a no brainer

There were 7 teams whose pitching stats were worse than the Rangers

Every year some pitchers exceed expectations and other fail to meet them, which ones will do which is hard to predict it is what it is...

I think they will get close to that goal or maybe even slightly exceed it considering the improvements they've made so far, unless the injury bug strikes...

Just think last years team was right around .500 for close to the first 40 games, then they lost a string of close games that I think took away their confidence and that caused the wheels to fall off or go flat. Not saying they would have finished at .500 but I think their record would have better by 8-10 games or so...

Yes it would be great and not sure unusual if we could get one surprise SP out of ST In Surprise

Fortunately for us our roster is not the final product just yet

Yeah those seem to be few and far between when it comes to SP prospects unfortunately...

There will be more movement I have no doubt of that, I'm hoping to see some new faces and the backside of some older ones...
